St. Goar (Sankt Goar) - gem of the Rhine River Valley, Germany
St. Goar (Sankt Goar, in German) is one of the major little gems on the Rhine River Valley. It is also a gateway to magnificent Rheinsfels Castle, located above the town. (we have a separate video devoted exlusively to the castle, which you can go to by clicking the following link: )
There is a pathway that leads directly up to it and we took that...not an overly strenuous climb, with wonderful views of St. Goar and the Rhine below.
We did a completely separate video of our visit to this wonderful castle, an absolute delight. The sister city of St. Goarhausen (Sankt Goarhausen) is located directly across the river.
St. Goar was named after the priest, hermit, monk Goar of Aquitaine, who had a strong influence there, building a hospital & chapel. He arrived around 618 A.D. in the area and decided to permanently settle there.
As is our custom, Ed does all of the video camcorder filming and narrations heard, while I do all of the still photography, choose the music to play during the slide show portion, edit it all and upload to You Tube, etc.
Per You Tube rules, credit must be giving to the song that you heard playing: I Need To Start Writing Things Down by Chris Zabriskie

We Wanna Go around the world! In vlog #15, We land in Frankfurt, Germany and find the perfect AirBnB accommodation near the historic wine region of Rüdesheim Am Rhein (Ruedesheim on the Rhine River). This small and historic winemaking town, situated beneath rolling hills lined with vineyards, is home to the famous Drosselgasse. This small and narrow walking street or alley is a major tourist attraction and is lined with cute restaurants, beer gardens, live music and souvenir shops. After strolling the street upwards, we make our way to the local Weinachtsmarkt (Christmas market) in the main square. We sample Bratwurst and Glühwein (mulled wine) before making our way up to the Niederwalddenkmal (Monument) atop the hill.

Miniatur Wunderland
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Miniatur Wunderland (German for miniature wonderland) is a model railway attraction in Hamburg, Germany and the largest of its kind in the world. As of January 2011, the railway consists of 12,000 metres (39,370 ft) of track in HO scale, divided into seven sections: Harz, the fictitious city of Knuffingen, the Alps and Austria, Hamburg, America, Scandinavia, and Switzerland. Of the 6,400 square metres (68,889 sq ft) of floorspace, the model takes 1,150 m2 (12,378 sq ft).
By 2020, the exhibit is expected to have reached its final construction phase, including at least a total of ten sections in a model area of over 2,300 m2 (24,757 sq ft). The next section covering an airport opened in May 2011. The exhibit includes 890 trains made up of over 11,000 carriages, 300,000 lights, 215,000 trees, and 200,000 human figurines. The creators are planning to work on models of Italy and France after the airport section is completed. Possible future additions include Africa, England, or a futuristic landscape.

07.10.2016 - Rhein-Mosel-Eifel Touristik im Landkreis Mayen-Koblenz
Saffig.
