Muktheshwara Temple, Haveri, Karnataka
Chaudayyadanapur is a small village in Ranebennur taluk, Haveri District, Karnataka, India. All facets of Indian civilization (religion, art and poetry) are exemplified in an exquisite Mukteshwara temple, with the highest degree of refinement.
The Mukteshwar Temple is a single cella temple in Jakkanachari style. Similar temples were built under the patronage of Kalachuris of Kalyani or Seuna dynasties. This temple is a jewel of architecture of the 11th–12th centuries. It was built during the heyday of the kingdom ruled by the Kalyani Chalukyas and the Seunas of Devagiri. It is dedicated to an Udbhava (spontaneously born) Lingam named Mukteshwar.
The dome of the temple is hollow and is closed by the slabs of the stupi. Shikhara of the Mukteshwara temple is 2.2 m in its axis at the base. The stupi is made of three beautiful lotiform mouldings diminishing in size and a lotus bud with its base.
The history of Mukteshwar Temple at Chaudayyadanapur is known through seven inscriptions in medieval Kannada, engraved on large steles. They provide information on the local rulers, kings of Guttala (Gupta ascendancy), on some constructions in the temple complex, on diverse donations to the deity.
They provide the details on a prominent religious leaders. Inscriptions introduce Muktajiyar, a Lakulasaiva saint, and Shivadeva, a Virashaiva saint, who entered the place on the 19 August 1225 and led there a long life of renunciation, asceticism and spiritual elevation. The legacy of this age of intense Shaivism is a jewel of architecture and sculpture.

Sirsi marikamba
Sri Marikamba Temple is in Sirsi, Karnataka State, India. The main priest at the temple belongs to the carpenter, or Vishvakarma caste. Kanakadasa, a famous saint poet of the Bhakthi movement, had visited the temple and advised the people to stop animal sacrifice of the he-buffalo. When Mahatma Gandhi visited Sirsi in 1933, during his campaign to abolish untouchability of Dalits, he refused to visit the temple, as animal sacrifice was a prevalent ancient practice at the temple; the sacrifice was in the form of offering of he-buffalo as a sacrifice to appease the goddess. A he-buffalo was specially bred for offering as a sacrifice to the deity during the annual Rathayatra. Following the protest by Gandhi, there was a social movement in the town not only to abolish animal sacrifice but also to allow Dalits entry into the temple. This movement was spearheaded by Keshwain, chief trustee of the temple, in association with Vitthal Rao Hodike, a teacher and dedicated Gandhian of the town. Both objectives of the movement were fulfilled. The Marikamba Rathayatra (chariot procession) of the deity is held every alternate year in the month of February and taken through the town. It is attended by a very large number of devotees.

Hangal Temples, Haveri district
For devotees my suggestion: Haveri Hangal is about 40 km. Reach Haveri city early in the morning take a room and fresh up. From Haveri to Hangal frequent buses are available. In Hangal you can visit all these temples by auto rikshaw. In Hangal Tarakeshwara, Billeshwara and Veerabhadraswamy temples are located in attractive and pleasant place. If you sit and meditate in these temples you will experience peace of mind.
Hangal, a small town in Haveri district was ruled by Kadambas of Banavasi, Gangas, Kalyani Chalukyas, Hoysalas, Vijayanagara, Adil Shahis and finally Tipu Sultan. Tarakeshwara temple of Hangal was constructed by Kadambas and later Kalyani Chalukyas made changes to it. Since Kadambas ruled between 345AD and 525AD it won't be wrong to say that the temple was built during the 4th Century.
Located on the outskirts of Hangal is yet another ancient temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, called Billeshwara Temple. It lies on the Hangal-Haveri road on a slightly higher ground , along the beautiful Anakere (elephant) Lake. This temple belongs to the Kalyana Chalukyan era and appears incomplete, with no massive enclosures or halls. The existing temple that dates back to the 11th-12th century has only the sanctum or Garbhagriha.
The entrance to the main shrine is by an elaborate doorway. The latter is made up of square panels that have ornate carvings and is divided into five Sakhas. The complex yet carefully crafted sculptures of various kinds of animals including lions and serpents on these panels are eye catching and are a celebration of the immense talent and creativity of the artists of those times.
The linga itself is about 5 ft tall and probably dates back to a much earlier period. The ceiling of the temple is remarkable featuring a beautiful pattern made out of lotus medallions.
The historic temple of Veerabhatra is located within the Hangal Fort. The temple has beautiful and intricate carvings all around it. This main deity of this temple is Lord Shiva. The temple is in a poor state and needs immediate repairs and renovation works by the archeological survey of India in order to restore its glory
