With a population of slightly more than 10 million, North Carolina is the 9th largest state in the U.S. by population.
This is the birthplace of Pepsi, Krispy Kreme and Cheerwine, and as far as living goes, it is as good a state as it gets.
The weather is mild and the residents enjoy all four distinct seasons in their full splendour.

Hendersonville is a city in Henderson County, North Carolina United States. This city is 22 miles south of Asheville.
Dating to shortly after the founding of Henderson County in 1838, Hendersonville is traditionally known as The City of Four Seasons. The town has a well-preserved Main Street and adjoining downtown areas with many restaurants, antique shops and boutiques in buildings that housed key local business until the mid-1980s. Its architecture reflects the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Much downtown revitalization has occurred since the early 1990s. Larger stores are almost entirely along the commercial strips extending outward from the downtown along U.S. Hwy. 64 east and U.S. Hwy. 176 and U.S. Hwy. 25. There are historic neighborhoods outside the Main Street corridor including the 5th Avenue neighborhood on the city's west side and the Druid Hills neighborhood north of downtown. Depressed areas are found along the city's east side, but redevelopment efforts are underway in the historic commercial district along 7th Avenue East.
The architectural focus of the downtown area is the Historic Henderson County Courthouse, completed in 1905 and completely renovated in 2008. The city is also home to the newly restored City Hall (erected 1924) and the modern Henderson County Courthouse (1995).
The largest street festival of the Hendersonville calendar is the annual North Carolina Apple Festival, culminating in the Apple Parade that regularly draws up to 50,000 spectators. Main Street is home to other festivals and special activities throughout the year.

With its fine, white sand and clear waters, Florida's Siesta Beach in the Gulf of Mexico attracts beach lovers from around the world.
Hundreds of yards in length, this year-round beach topped Dr. Beach's 27th annual top 10 lists of US beaches (Top 10 beaches in the USA ), released Thursday.
Dr. Beach, aka Florida International University professor Stephen P. Leatherman, issues his annual review of 650 US coastal beaches on the basis of 50 criteria, including water and sand quality, beach safety, environmental management and no-smoking policies.
Including the first-place Siesta Beach, Florida had the most beaches listed with three.
Hawaii had two beaches on the top 10 list, with North Carolina, South Carolina, Massachusetts, New York and beach-heavy California each listing just one beach each.
Hawaii's Hapuna Beach entered the list this year, displacing 2016 winner Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve, also in Hawaii.
Leatherman used to retire his winners but has decided to stop doing it. Case in point -- Siesta Beach previously held the top prize in 2011.

The town of Somerfield in Somerset County PA was taken for the Yough Dam in 1946 and covered with water. Once in a while the water level is so low that the historic 1818 US 40 bridge comes out of the water. Here is some then and now along with film today.
