In A Day's Drive: Martinsville-Henry County, Virginia
Martinsville-Henry County was featured recently on WSLS 10's program Daytime Blue Ridge in a segment called In A Day's Drive. The segment features ideas for summer vacations and staycations located within the region and also offers travel information on a companion website InADaysDrive.com.

19. Rose Hall Great - Jamaica
Annie Mae Patterson, was the owner of this place. I poisoned her first husband and stabbed him to the second. He had more than 2000 slaves at his service whom he tortured, and murdered after using them sexually. A terribly bloody woman and known as 'The White Witch'
18. Overtoun Bridge - Scotland
Around 100 dogs have 'committed suicide' on this bridge in recent years. but what looked like a ghostly story has a scientific explanation. I leave a link.
17. Centralia - USA
In 1981, this small town had about 1,000 inhabitants, but after setting fire to a garbage dump, it spread to an old coal mine that burned under the city. At present the fire continues and the town is history.
16. Rectory of Borley - England
Located in the county of Essex, it is a place of worship for fans of the paranormal. The legend says that a monk had a relationship with a nun from a nearby convent. After being discovered, the monk was hanged and the nun bricked alive on the walls of the convent.
15. Tower of London - England
There are hundreds of legends that surround this place, especially those that relate it to the ghostly presence, of Ana Bolena, second wife of Henry VIII, who was executed among those walls.
14. Hotel del Salto - Colombia
It is located near the waterfalls of Tequendama, an incredible place, in a magical environment where some decided to take their own lives turning it into one of the most emblematic places of mysterious Colombia.
13. 'Queen Mary'
Today is a luxury hotel in Long Beach, but many people do not dare to enter it because it is considered one of the centers with more paranormal activity in the world.
12. Salem - USA
In the seventeenth century there was a witch-hunt in this village after the Reverend's daughter fell ill and it was diagnosed as having been haunted. About 20 people were sentenced to be hanged in those days.
11. West Virginia Penitentiary - USA
There were many men who perished within its walls, both criminals condemned to death, and some victims of disturbances within the place. A hellish prison.
10. Island of Poveglia - Italy
It was a small state, but the plague (fourteenth century), which spread during the Middle Ages ended with this island. Each infected person, suspected of being infected with the disease or anyone who died of the plague, was taken to Poveglia.
