baggeridge country park, once used to be a coal mine or collery up until the late 1960 and was opened in 1982 i think. once, over five hundred people worked under the ground here exracting coal from the coal seams underground that streched up to five miles in either direction and Baggeridge as now become a place for queit country walks. with some remains of its past can be seen within the landscape if you know what to look for.
