Boiling Springs State Park, Oklahoma
A trip to Boiling Springs State Park on a cold winter day. I walked to the N. Canadian River through a forest with some really cool and old trees. I wanted to do additional hikes, but the weather turned against me and it started raining pretty hard so I had to curtail my visit.
Gloss Mountain State Park, Oklahoma

Black Mesa State Park
Black Mesa is located in Oklahoma's panhandle along the tri-state border with Colorado and New Mexico. The nature preserve consists of approximately 1,600 acres where visitors can hike and enjoy 23 rare plants and eight rare animal species. The unique area marks the point where the Rocky Mountains meet the shortgrass prairie and many species are at the easternmost or westernmost point of their natural range. In addition to being an excellent location for wildlife watching, Black Mesa State Park boasts some of the darkest nighttime skies on publicly accessible land in the country. The dark skies draw countless astronomy enthusiasts to the area every year as they make star gazing ideal.

Martin Nature Center Oklahoma City Park and Trails
Created in response to the demand for conservation, Martin Park Nature Center is a 140-acre nature park that combines recreation, education, and wildlife. It features a hands-on nature museum highlighting the animal life, flora and fauna of Oklahoma, picnic area, and browsing library. Three hiking trails, bird observation wall and a watch tower are on site. Cottontail rabbits, deer, owls, foxes, squirrels, raccoons, opossum, skunk, coyote, muskrat, beaver, armadillo, and a variety of birds make Martin Park their home. Hiking trails lead visitors around a large pond, along the bubbling Spring Creek, beside wildflower meadows and through the park's woodlands. The park is located just west of Mercy Hospital.

Birch Cove - Tulsa Area - Army Corps of Engineers Park
Birch Cove is an Army Corps of Engineers Park that the Two Tired Teachers found amazing. Despite none of the sites having water at the campsite, it is a gorgeous campground with water near each campsite.
Birch Cove is near Tulsa, OK; and not far from Bartlesville, OK. Off the beaten path attractions abound in the area. Two Tired Teachers visited Woolaroc, standing for woods, lake, and rock. It is a retreat that belonged to Frank Phillips, founder of Phillips 66 gas company.
In Pawhuska, the Two Tired Teachers saw the Mercantile Building where Pioneer Woman Ree Drummond offers some of her amazing cooking skills. When the Two Tired Teachers were there, the line waiting to get in was fairly long out the door.
The Two Tired Teachers also visited the Tallgrass Prairie Preserve. A herd of over 2,000 bison have are free to roam on this 15 mile area. A visitors center and small gift shop offering souvenirs is deep in the Tallgrass Prairie Preserve.
Camping in a corp of engineers park was easy because Oklahoma corp of engineers park was beautiful. It is a coe campground in Tulsa area. Camping at Birch Cove was a great experience.
