BEST Sushi So Far In Osaka and a Quick Visit to Nara - Japanese Food Travel in Osaka!
► Check out our Osaka Food Guide for details on restaurants in these videos:On Day 12 in Osaka, Japan, we decided to first take a quick day trip to Nara, a city that’s about a 45 minute train ride from Osaka. We then returned to Osaka, and had some of the finest sushi I had during my trip there.
00:27 Trip to Nara - Nara is an old and historical town in Japan, not far from Osaka and Kyoto. It’s very easy to get there by public transportation. The first thing you’ll notice as soon as you arrive to Nara are the deer - they are free roaming all over the city, and people love to interact with them.
2:48 Todai-ji Temple - 500 JPY ($4.17) - One of the biggest and most famous temples in Nara is the Todai-ji Temple, and although it was intensely busy, we decided to pay the entrance fee and go inside. It was good to see, but it was a very busy day that we visited.
4:09 Lunch at Happoh Restaurant (和食屋 八寶) - After walking around Nara for a while, we headed back towards the train station, and had lunch at a restaurant called Happoh Restaurant (和食屋 八寶). The food was alright, but not the best. We then took the train back to Osaka to do some shopping and eating.
6:15 Tenjinbashisuji Shotengai - Tenjinbashisuji Shotengai is the longest shopping street in Japan, and it goes on for something like 2.6 km. We got back to Osaka, and walked around this area, before eating some amazing sushi.
7:23 Harukoma Sushi (春駒 支店) - While walking around the shopping market, I noticed a line of people, all waiting for a turn to get into Harukoma Sushi (春駒 支店), a famous sushi restaurant in Osaka. I had researched this restaurant and had wanted to eat here, but I didn’t know when we were going to get there, or where it was - but we stumbled into it, and decided to go straight in line to eat there. The sushi turned out to be some of the best sushi I had in Osaka. It wasn’t fancy, but it was good quality, big pieces of sushi and fish, and it felt like we were at a fish market. Awesome sushi, good prices, and friendly service.

Japan Vlog #005 - Day 4 in Kyoto (Trip to Arashiyama & Nishiki Market)
Spending half day in Arashiyama.Wake up early in the morning (5:30am) - prepare ourself - take public bus from Senbonmarutamachi Bus Stop to Nonomiya Bus Stop (about 28 mins to reach). I would recommend to take bus in Kyoto because bus can go almost every where with very little walk.
Visit:
1. Bamboo Grove
2. Tenryuji Temple (天龍寺) 8:30am - 5:30pm
3. Togetsukyo Bridge
4. Arashiyama Park
Eat in Arashiyama:
1. 嵯峨豆腐三忠
2. Unagi Hirokawa (廣川)
Back to Central Kyoto. Take bus from Arashiyama Park to Nishiki Market. Accidentally found Nanaya Matcha while walking to Nishiki Market. We don't plan it (because we din't know) but we found it, means we must try on it.
Eat:
1. Nanaya Matcha (10am - 6pm)
2. Nishiki Market (9:30am - 6pm)
3. 串焼 満天 (weekday 5:30pm - 11pm, weekend 5pm - 11pm)
** Gyoza Chaochao Sanjo-Kiyamachi (weekday 5pm - 2am, Sat 2am - 2pm, Sun 2pm - 12am), try to avoid dinner time

We had such a nice time in Arashiyama, Kyoto. After we visited the Bamboo Forest, we walked up North towards the mountains & found Adashino Nembutsu-ji Temple. Afterwards we went back into Saga-Arashiyama Area which is a long Shopping Street. We had a Tofu based lunch (It wasn't our favourite) & then we found an Owl retreat/Bengal cat cafe.

When clouds ruin your star trails
Sometimes all you wanna do is photograph the stars moving through the night sky. But sometimes the clouds ignore the weather forecast, and come spoil your evening.The bright moon didn't help either.
Ah, but it was a fun excursion to an obscure spot half an hour away from tiny Hirokawa Beach train station in Wakayama, Japan. And hey, BGs and the scrappy mountain dinner were ok.
Plus I managed not to get attacked by gigantic frogs, or shot by the nearby valley people.
