    Until January 1, 2007 Løkken-Vrå was a municipality in North Jutland County on the northwest coast of the island of Vendsyssel-Thy at the top of the Jutland peninsula in northern Denmark. The municipality covered an area of 181 km², and had a total population of 8,828 . Its last mayor was Knud Rødbro. The main town and the site of its municipal council was the town of Vrå. Løkken-Vrå municipality ceased to exist due to Kommunalreformen . It was merged with existing Hjørring, Hirtshals, and Sindal municipalities to form an enlarged Hjørring municipality. This created a municipality with an area of 929 km² and a total population of ca. 67,816. The new municipality belongs to Region Nordjylland .

    Råbjerg Mile is a migrating coastal dune between Skagen and Frederikshavn, Denmark. It is the largest moving dune in Northern Europe with an area of around 2 km2 and a height of 40 m above sea level. It is also the only major stretch of migrating dunes in Denmark. The dune contains a total of 4 million m3 of sand. The wind moves it in a north-easterly direction up to 18 metres a year. The dune leaves a low, moist layer of sand behind it, trailing back westwards towards Skagerrak, where the Mile originally formed more than 300 years ago. Over 250,000 people visit the dune every year.
