The most famous one day picnic spots Sabuj Dweep near Kolkata. Find out how to come to the Sabuj Deep, come train or bus. If you arrive at the train, you will have to go to Balagarh station, and get auto or rickshaw. 3 to 4 kilometer by road and if you came from Kolkata (Dharmatala) the distance of 85 km distance from Kolkata would be 3 to 3.30 hours to take. Hangseswari temple is a Hindu Temple of goddess Hangseswari(The goddess who came in a dream of Raja Nrisingha Deb Roy Mahasay) at Banshberia,Hooghly, West Bengal, India. Banshberia is an industrial town positioned in between Bandel and Tribeni. The temple complex has another temple — Ananta Basudeba temple — besides the main temple. The Hanseswari temple has a distinctive architecture different from the usual pattern present in this area, consisting 13 minars or Ratnas, each built as a blooming lotus bud. The inner structure of the building resembles human anatomy. It was started by Raja Nrisingha Deb Roy Mahasay and later completed by his widow wife Rani Sankari.
This temple also has idols of Radha-Krishna and Lord Shiva.

Attractions
1. The Konnagar Station: This is where you need to deboard the train. The station is well-kept with plenty of sitting spaces and overhead sheds. Besides, at the platform, you will find some artistically wood carving works that would bring cheers to your lips for sure.
2. The Konnagar Market: The Konnagar Market or the Bazaar is alongside the railway station. Here fresh fruits and green vegetables are available at affordable prices. Besides, the market also serves the purpose of those coming here for a picnic because they get the option to procure the raw materials required for the event from here.
3. The Konnagar Fashion Big Bazar: The Konnagar Fashion Big Bazar is also known as the “Destination.” It’s one of the choicest shopping centers in the region for all the age groups. So together with the trip, you have the option for shopping as well.
4. The Shakuntala Kali Bari: It’s one of the popular temples of the region. The temple is unique because it doesn’t have the idol of the goddess Kali. Moreover, during the auspicious event of the Shakuntala Kali Puja in the months of April/May devotees gather here from far and wide to offer prayer to the goddess.
5. The Konnagar Rabindra Bhavan: Some of the important cultural programs and events of the region is held here on a regular basis.
6. The Konnagar Bata Crossing: It’s another popular and busy landmark of the town on the G. T. Road. It’s well connected with buses, taxis, totos, auto-rickshaws, and ferry services.
7. The Konnagar Ferry Ghat: It’s at a close proximity to the Bata Crossing. The regular ferry service connects Konnagar to Panihati and Sodepur.
8. The Konnagar Municipality: It has gone through a renovation a few years ago. The new look is a treat to the eyes.
9. The Konnagar Public Library: It is established way back in 1858 and has some good collections of books and literature.
10. The Brahmo Samaj Ghat: The historical Ghat is one of the best places to sit, relax and watch the flowing waters of the Hooghly River. Several well-known personalities of the yesteryears have come here in the past to experience the natural appeal of the riverbank.
11. The Dwadas Mandir Ghat: It’s another popular Ghat at Konnagar with twelve temples. It remains in the center of attraction also because it hosts some of the popular events of the region like the Chhath Puja, Rath Puja, etc.
12. The Raj Rajeshwari Temple: The temple complex covers a huge area on the G. T. Road. Besides, the temple stands so tall that its peak is seen from the far distant. Devotees gather regularly here to participate in the morning and evening prayer. Moreover, the temple celebrates the Raj Rajeshwari Puja in the first quarter of each year.
13. The Nandi Bagan Picnic Spot: This is a popular picnic spot situated on the G. T. Road. It has all the facilities and setting for a wonderful picnic outing. The banks of the Hooghly River, the cool shades of trees, the gardens of colorful seasonal flowers make it a favorite spot among the picnic lovers.
14. The Konnagar G. T. Road: Different types of vehicles pass from here throughout the day at varying speeds and it’s the only road that connects the town with the nearby towns and the adjoining cities.
To get there
Konnagar is connected to Kolkata by the railways and the roadways. It’s around fourteen kilometers away from the Howrah Station. It takes around twenty-five minutes of rail journey to reach the town. Local trains like the Bandel, Barddhaman, Tarkeshwar, etc., are available at regular intervals from the Howrah Station. Alternatively, you may also reach the town by the roadway via the B. T. Road, Dunlop, Uttarpara, and G. T. Road.
