Excursion Into Coos County New Hampshire
The northern 1/3 of NH is pretty desolate with a population of about 30k. Recently I went to one of the most remote parts of Coos County New Hampshire and drove four miles up a dirt road, another two miles up a non-maintained road for 4x4 use, and then pulled off on a temporary logging road where some trees had recently been cut. Nearest human was probably four miles from me. Great spot to lay in the back of a truck and look at stars at night.

Kingston is one famous little New Hampshire town covering 20.88 square miles.
Kingston was incorporated in 1694 and was established as a town in 1694 when it separated from the town of Hampton. It was the fifth town to be established in New Hampshire and originally called King's Town.
Kingstons most famous citizen is Dr. Josiah Bartlett, delegate to the Continental Congress, signer of the Declaration of Independence. Kingston State Park, Rock Rimmon State Forest bordering on Great Pond, is a 44-acre park offering swimming and picnicking but is pet free.
Ideally located Kingston is only 45 minutes from Concord NH, 1 hour from Boston Ma (depending on traffic) and a scant 30 minutes away from ocean beaches. Kingston is a pretty town with a quaint little down town area called the Kingston Commons.
In the summer months the Commons is known for its farmers market where local farmers sell their fresh products. Kingston offers a wide variety of community events.
Long known as a town proud of its history but ready to embrace its future as evidenced by the fantastic new high school just completed.

Kayaking New Hampshire: Umbagog Lake State Park
This video highlights a short overnight kayaking trip on Umbagog Lake located on the New Hamshire/Maine border.
The lake features 33 remote paddle/boat in campsites.
NOTES: Do come prepared to deal with bugs! Mesquitos were a nuisance in the evening, but the no-see-ums (biting gnats) were a terror in the morning. I think I set a new personal record for breaking down camp and setting out! :)

Hooksett Toll Booth - Hooksett, NH
This past Saturday was West Congregational Church's first summer hike of 2013, and these next few videos show some footage of me traveling to the location as well as hiking. This first one has my mother and I in the Ford Taurus SE about to go through the toll booth off of I-93 northbound in Hooksett, NH (which comes right after Exit 11 as I-93 does share part of the Everett Turnpike from the northern terminus of I-293 all the way to Concord, NH). Furthermore, this booth recently got refurbished by making an EZ-Pass lane (Thus making the toll booth look a lot more like the Hampton Toll Booths off of I-95) as well.
Note: There were also a lot of bikers on I-93 North too because this past weekend was also the New Hampshire Bike Weekend which took place more further north in Laconia, NH.
Kayaking the Pemigewasset River

We decided to take a weekend off from hiking and go kayaking. We went with friends on the Pemigewasset River from Profile Falls in Bristol, NH to Old Hill Village near the Franklin Dam Falls. Great day to be out on the water. We did just get out on time, as a big thunder storm blew through the area.
