Ijevan , is a town and urban municipal community in Armenia serving as the administrative centre of Tavush Province. It is located at the center of the region, at the foot of Ijevan ridge of Gugark Mountains, on the shores of Aghstev River. As of the 2011 census, the population of the town was 21,081, making it the most populated town in the province. As per the 2016 official estimate, the population of Ijevan is around 20,700. Ijevan is located at a road distance of 137 km northeast of Yerevan. The Yerevan-Tbilisi highway passes through Ijevan. 3. Monastery Sevanavank Sevan
Sanahin Monastery is an Armenian monastery founded in the 10th century in the Lori Province of Armenia. The name Sanahin literally translates from Armenian as this one is older than that one, presumably representing a claim to having an older monastery than the neighbouring Haghpat Monastery. The two villages and their monasteries are similar in many ways, and lie in plain view of each other on a dissected plateau formation, separated by a deep crack formed by a small river flowing into the Debed river. As with Haghpat, Sanahin is frequented by an increasing number of tourists, due to its recent inclusion on the itineraries of a great number of Armenian tour agencies, the beauty of its monastery complex matching that of Haghpat's. 4. Goshavank Monastery Gosh
Goshavank is a 12th- or 13th-century Armenian monastery located in the village of Gosh in the Tavush Province of Armenia. Today the monastery is not a functioning religious complex, although it remains a popular tourist destination and has recently undergone some light restoration. These restorations are being financed by an Islamic individual from the United Arab Emirates for reasons not fully understood. The impressive monastery which has remained in relatively good condition also houses one of the world's finest examples of a khachkar.

Noratus cemetery, also spelled Noraduz, is a medieval cemetery with a large number of early khachkars located in the village of Noratus, Gegharkunik marz near Gavar and Lake Sevan, 90 km north of Yerevan.The cemetery has the largest cluster of khachkars in the Republic of Armenia. It is currently the largest surviving cemetery with khachkars following the destruction of the khachkars in Old Julfa, Nakhichevan by the government of Azerbaijan.

Riding the Longest Cableway in the World - The Wings of Tatev in Armenia (Guinness World Records)

Wings of Tatev is a 5.7 km cableway between Halidzor and the Tatev monastery in the Syunik province of Armenia. It is the longest reversible aerial tramway built in one section only and is officially recorded in the Guinness World Records book on 23 October 2010. The video is recorded while departing from the Tatev monastery on 23 August, 2012. The scenery depicts the Vorotan river gorge with the naturally formed bridge.

Located 100km north of the country's capital city, Yerevan, this quiet town boasts its hidden medieval monasteries, idyllic landscapes and the unmatched hospitality of its residents.

As a DIY traveler, I managed to spend less than 320 USD within my 7-day trip in Armenia (Food, transpo, acomm, excluding airfare). I hitch-hiked, got free food, and gathered cherries and mulberries.
