There are few cities in the world that can compare to Jerusalem in terms of ancient history and religious significance. It’s one of the most fascinating cities in the world, and it’s a city that I’ve wanted to visit my entire life. Finally, along with my friend David ( and Rafram, we explored Jerusalem to discover the food treasures the city has to offer - and let me tell you, you’ll find some incredibly delicious food in Jerusalem!
We started off the Jerusalem food tour by first walking around East Jerusalem and starting with the best plate of hummus I’ve ever had. We then toured around Old Jerusalem, and enjoyed some incredible Palestinian food kebabs cooked by an incredible man who cooked with serious love and passion. Another highlight in Jerusalem was the mutabak, a thin pastry stuffed with cheese and baked.
After eating our way through Old Jerusalem, we then headed into West Jerusalem and went to lunch at an Israeli Jewish restaurant serving a mix of amazing dishes. The food was home-cooked in style, and absolutely sensation. A few more snacks and sightseeing throughout the afternoon, and that brought us all the way to dinner where David had made reservations to eat at one of the hottest restaurants in Jerusalem, Machneyuda Restaurant. It was quite an experience, and an amazing meal and lively atmosphere to wrap up this ultimate Jerusalem food tour.

It was a lot of food in a single day, but it was one of the greatest food and learning days that I’ve ever had in my life. The generosity of the people we connected with, paired with the food, was truly a memorable experience in Jerusalem.

Extreme Chinese Street Food - JACUZZI CHICKEN and Market Tour in Kunming! | Yunnan, China Day 4

Kunming, Yunnan, China - Kunming is the capital and largest city in Yunnan province China. So I was excited to explore the local market in Kunming and eat as much street food as possible!
Here are all the Chinese street food dishes we ate throughout the market:
Rice pudding - 5 RMB ($0.76) - This was slightly fermented, and sweet, like a rice alcohol pudding. It was pretty good, but quite sweet, so I couldn’t eat that much of it.
Dumpling - 1 RMB ($0.15) - I saw these dumplings sizzling and hissing and there was no way I could walk by without trying one. Stuffed inside were leek and egg. They were a little on the oily side, but delicious.
Whole duck - 20 RMB ($3.03) - Yunnan is famous for roast duck, and there’s a version that’s comparable even to Beijing style. Style I was excited to find a stall that at the market that specialize in Yunnanese roast duck. It was delicious and the owners were very friendly as well.
Pickled pears - 5 RMB ($0.76) - This was an interesting snack, and supposed to be very healthy and good for digestion.
Drink - 2 RMB ($0.30) - This drink was incredible sweet, but refreshing.
Tofu Noodles - 5.5 RMB ($0.83) - Another extremely popular Chinese street food snack at the market was tofu noodles - I’ve had tofu and noodles, but not really mixed before. It was a little plain and starchy, but from all the sauces, it was taty.
Rice balls - 5 RMB ($0.76) - We also tried sesame rice balls which were delicious.
Jacuzzi braised ½ chicken - 15 RMB ($2.27) - This was one of the highlights of the market for me, mainly because the owner was so friendly and his giant jacuzzi of boiling chickens was amazing to see! The chicken was a little bony, but flavorful.
Yellow soybean porridge - 3.5 RMB ($0.53) - As we were leaving the market, we stopped for one last bowl of soybean porridge to eat with youtiau, Chinese donuts. I wasn’t expecting to like it as much as I did, but it was delicious. It was very warming and hearty.
Finally to complete this Chinese street food tour in Kunming, Jerry and I, along with his family ate Chinese Yunnanese bbq. It was tasty and a great way to end this amazing day of street food.

Visitors interested in Kyoto’s traditional textiles may be interested in visiting the Nishijin Textile Center. The center is located in a modern-style building where visitors can view demonstrations and exhibits featuring Nishijin textile industry as well as historical material. There are hand-weaving demonstrations as well as six kimono shows daily. For a nominal fee, visitors are allowed to dress up as a maiko, geiko in a junihitoe (12 layered kimono).
There is a large shopping area where visitors can explore through the beauty of the gorgeous Nishijin textiles.

Mengisi waktu liburan bersama keluarga merupakan sebuah aktivitas yang menyenangkan bagi setiap orang. Apalagi bagi kita yang selama ini memiliki rutinitas dan pekerjaan yang selalu memakan waktu hingga sulit bertemu ataupun bersama keluarga.
Untuk menyegarkan kembali keharmonisan hubungan dalam rumah tangga bersama keluarga, liburanmerupakan resep jitu dan mudah dilakukan oleh siapapun. Namun, bukan berarti liburan bersama keluarga selalu menyita banyak waktu untuk keluar kota untuk menuju tempat rekreasi,
Tempat rekreasi keluarga untuk mengisi waktu liburan bersama keluarga yang terdapat di wilayah sekitar tempat tinggal kita. Bukan hal yang baru bila dunia anak merupakan dunia bermain, dan pastinya kita juga tahu bila semua anak kecil suka bermain air atau berlama-lama mandi di air.
Dengan mengetahui hal tersebut kita dapat memanfaatkan liburan dengan berenang bersama anak-anak. Namun dibalik kegiatan liburan sambil berenang yang menyenangkan tersebut ternyata berenang dapat meningkatkan kecerdasan anak.
Manfaat Liburan Berenang Bagi Anak
Hasil dari penelitian di Melbourne, Australia menunjukan secara statis IQ pada anak yang diajarkan berenang sejak bayi lebih tinggi ketimbang anak-anak yang tidak diajarkan berenang atau diajarkan berenang setelah usia 5 tahun. Dan ini bisa dilhat ketika usia nakan berusia 10 tahun. Namun hasil yang bisa dilihat lainnya pertumbuhan fisik anak secara emosional dan bersosialnya pun akan terlihat lebih baik.
Sedangkan dari penelitian lainnya menunjukan bahwa bayi lebih mudah diajarkan dari pada pada orang dewasa. Dan hal terpenting bermain dalam air akan membuat anak bergerak, dengan gerakan tubuhnya si anak akan membantu menguatkan otot-ototnya seta meremberikan daya rangsang saraf-saraf pada tubuh si anak.
Mengajak anak liburan sambil berenang kita akan melihat sebuah reaksi anak pada saat melihat kolam renang dengan failitas bermainnya. Biasanya si anak akan bergerak dan belari menuju untuk mencoba aneka permainan yang tersedia di alam kolam renang. Pada kesempatan inilah kita dapat mebuat sebuah ikatan emosional anak lebih dekat apabila kta ikut mendampingi anak-anak pada saat berenang.
Dengan berenang dan bermain air bersama anak, pada umunnya akan membuat anak akan lebih mudah beradaptasi dan bersosialisasi dengan teman-temannya yang lain. Mereka akan bertemu dengan teman-teman yang baru di dalam kolam renang untuk bermain bersama.
Dan tidak salahnya bagi kita para orng tua bisa memberikan kesempatan pada anak ketika si anak sedang menikmati liburan mereka dengan kawan baru yang dikenalnya. Namun hal ini harus tetap dalam pengawasan kita.

Kanchipuram Handloom Silk Saree Weaving Process
I shot this video at Emmanuval Silks, about Traditional Handloom Weaving process. It feels nice to know how traditional Hand-loom Sarees were made. Its a mammoth task, where more than 5000 lines of threads gets interweaved with resham and zari. Entire process is manual and you can also see several design cardboards. Takes more than 10 days to make one saree and which is sold at 20,000+ prices.
