Amtrak's Coast Starlight: Los Angeles to Seattle
Climb aboard Amtrak's Coast Starlight for a trip through some of the most spectacular scenery in the western United States. We'll follow the train on its 1,377 mile long journey from Los Angeles, California to Seattle, Washington along the Pacific Ocean, through river valleys, and up over forested mountain ranges. Along the way, we'll make a few brief side trips to some notable landmarks. ENCINITAS CA ~ California coastal beach town
I drove along the California coast for a couple days. I saw some interesting towns, state beaches, locals hanging out, tourists enjoying the beaches and sun. I shot some video footage, did some photography work, metal detecting (after hearing of a Spanish ship loaded with treasure from Manila Philippines) shipwrecked long ago in the area). The Fisher Gold Bug 2 did better in the sands that I expected. I was hungry after that, found a burger joint called Angelo's, good cheeseburgers.
Encinitas California seems a bit small, because you can be driving along and suddenly you're not there anymore, off into another coastal town. I'm sure it has more people than my impression.
I thought of this town from George4title talking about it lately. Anyway, it is very beautiful, as is most of the drive up from San Diego toward Los Angeles CA.
Surfing is popular in this coast town, surfing classes, young people practicing on the small waves, lots of surf shops to buy surf boards and all you'd need. Also some how to surf schools, teachers, instruction classes.
One thing that caught me by surprise was the numbers of lonely women, especially at night, they were very much 'looking'.

The BEST beach in San Diego!
San Diego is full of amazing beaches. Finding the best beach in San Diego is both difficult and extremely easy. The process to find the best beach in San Diego is this, find a beach in San Diego... it's probably the best. It's difficult because everyone has their favorite. This one just happens to be ours.
This beach can be found in IB, (more commonly known as Imperial Beach). Imperial Beach can be found at the far southern end of San Diego. Actually if you go any farther south you end up in Mexico.
It's beach is a long strip of beautiful white sand, well manicured as well. It also has an awesome, very long wooden pier. A lot of locals like this beach because it's generally less crowded then other beaches in San Diego, it also has great surfing... so I hear. It can be busy in the summer, but never crazy like the beaches in LA.
