World of Heritage - Iran
Iran was once the heart of the great Persian Empire that stretched from Greece all the way to China. The country is full of rich history, bursting with colourful buildings, and imposing palaces, but is not a top tourist destination due to its political situation. However, Iran still has much to offer.

The State Department may not think it’s a great idea, but you can still totally travel to Iran. Most people there are quite friendly, and if sand is your thing, the country itself can be stunningly beautiful. Just don't dance!
1. It’s Like ‘Footloose’ Over There
Western music is strictly forbidden; no tapping, dancing, head bobbing, or anything of the sort is allowed in public. A group of young Iranians were actually sentenced to 91 lashes and jail time for dancing to Pharell’s “Happy”.
2. Getting Away With Murder
According to the Iranian legal system, if you commit murder, you could get off scot free if you have enough money to settle with the family. Usually, the price paid for murdering a woman is half that of murdering a man.
3. No Touching!
Even if you’re married, just holding hands in public can be considered an incredible breach of etiquette. Touching between non-married, non-family is strictly forbidden, so don’t extend a handshake while there.
4. No Wild Animal Sex
It’s completely illegal to have sex with wild animals. But isn’t that a perfectly normal law? Of course! However, it is legal to make love to domesticated animals. That’s just good sense; you don’t know where wild animals have been.
5. Headgear Is Mandatory
The Iranian government legally enforces women to wear a hijab in public, including a roosari, manteau or chador.
Even the mannequins in Iran must have their heads and curves “appropriately” covered.
6. It’s the Nose Job Capital of the World
Despite the ban on fashion magazines, vanity is alive and well in Iran. In fact, the country has the highest rate of rhinoplasty on the planet. They have seven times as many nose job procedures as Americans.
7. Alcohol is Illegal
However there are some locals that still enjoy a nip of the good stuff from time to time, just like in the days of the American Prohibition.
8. Cutting Ties
If you’re on a business trip to Iran, you might want to leave the suit and tie at home. There is an official guideline not to wear these symbols of Western business.
9. Watch Your 'Do
Having any kind of weird or unorthodox haircut is strictly outlawed, In fact, Iran’s Cultural Ministry published a list of approved hairstyles to eliminate Western hairstyles like ponytails, mullets, and spiky ‘dos.
10. Getting Away with Rape
Though the vast majority of the country’s people are decent, awful things do happen in Iran. When sexual assault occurs, the burden is placed on the woman to prove that she actually was raped and if she cannot adequately prove it, she may be charged with adultery which is a capital crime.
