Kemerovo (Russian: Кемерово, IPA: [ˈkʲemʲɪrəvə]) is an industrial city and the administrative center of Kemerovo Oblast, Russia, located at the confluence of the Iskitim and Tom Rivers, in the major coal mining region of the Kuznetsk Basin. Population:

The industrialization of Kemerovo was driven and underpinned by coal mining and by the heavy industry based on the availability of coal. Since the disintegration of the Soviet Union, the city's industries have experienced a severe decline, creating high levels of unemployment. Major companies based in the city include Siberian Business Union.

Russia: The Beautiful St Petersburg City (Drone)

Saint Petersburg was founded by Peter the Great in 1703 on the Neva river, in the midst of the land he had just conquered from Sweden, outside the area occupied by the Russians. Pre-planned rather than spontaneous almost from scratch, the city, called by Peter my window in Europe, is designed to look European rather than Russian, and many European architects are invited to work here. As the capital of the Russian Empire from the early 18th century to the beginning of the 20th century, the city grew steadily.

The city has undergone several name changes since its inception. Because of the German origin of the name Saint Petersburg, its name was changed to Petrograd which sounded more Russian in 1914 after World War I. Subsequently, its name was changed to Leningrad in honor of Soviet founder leader Vladimir Ilyich Lenin. It was only in 1991, after the break-up of the Soviet Union that the original name was restored, although the surrounding area remained known as the Leningrad Oblast.

Saint Petersburg almost always, or at least trying to become a city with a strong foreign connection, and herein lies its authenticity. Do not expect that too native. Matryoshka and other souvenirs popular among foreigners have nothing to do with his authentic life.
