Isparta Province is a province in southwestern Turkey. Its adjacent provinces are Afyon to the northwest, Burdur to the southwest, Antalya to the south, and Konya to the east. It has an area of 8,993 km² and a population of 448,298 up from 434,771 . The provincial capital is Isparta. The province is well known for its apples, sour cherries, grapes, roses and rose products, and carpets. The best fertile lands are in the area named Uluborlu. The province is situated in the Göller Bölgesi of Turkey's Mediterranean Region and has many freshwater lakes.

    The 81 provinces of Turkey are divided into 957 districts . In the early Turkish Republic and in the Ottoman Empire, the corresponding unit was the kaza. The district bears the same name as the district capital . A district may cover both rural and urban areas. One district of a province is designated the central district from which the district is administered. The central district is administered by an appointed provincial deputy governor and other the non-central districts by an appointed sub-governor from their district center municipality. In central districts the district center municipality also serves as the provincial center municipality. Both the deputy governor and sub-governors are responsible to the province governor .
