Istrana is a comune in the Province of Treviso in the Italian region Veneto, located about 35 kilometres northwest of Venice and about 12 kilometres west of Treviso. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 8,223 and an area of 26.3 square kilometres .The municipality of Istrana contains the frazioni Sala, Pezzan, Ospedaletto, and Villanova. Istrana borders the following municipalities: Morgano, Paese, Piombino Dese, Trevignano, Vedelago.

Venice Marco Polo Airport is the international airport of Venice, Italy. It is located on the mainland 4.3 nautical miles north of the city in Tessera, a Frazione of the Comune of Venice nearest to Mestre. Due to the importance of Venice as a leisure destination, it features flights to many European metropolitan areas as well as some partly seasonal long-haul routes to the United States, Canada and the Middle East. The airport handled 10.371.380 passengers in 2017, making it the fourth busiest airport in Italy. The airport is named after Marco Polo and serves as a base for Volotea and easyJet.Another airport located in the Venice area, Treviso Airport, is sometimes unofficially labelled as Venice - Treviso and mostly serves low-cost airlines, mainly Ryanair and Wizz Air.

San Michele in Isola is a Roman Catholic church, located on the Isola di San Michele, a small islet sited between Venice and Murano, which once sheltered a Camaldolese monastery , but now houses the main cemetery of the city. The monastery was mostly demolished in the 19th-century, but the church remains, originally rebuilt starting in 1469. The church is dedicated to Saint Michael , the holder of the scales on Judgement Day, a fit guardian of the sleep of the faithful dead. The island cemetery now includes the land of the formerly separate island of San Cristoforo. This church is sometimes referred to as San Michele di Murano, although this islet is separate from islands comprising that town.

The Giau Pass is a high mountain pass in the Dolomites in the province of Belluno in Italy. It connects Cortina d'Ampezzo with Colle Santa Lucia and Selva di Cadore. It is located at the center of a vast mountain pasture at the foot of Nuvolau and dell'Averau from which you can easily reach the Monte Pore . Impressive is the view west towards Colle Santa Lucia with the Pale di San Martino, Cime D'Auta, Marmolada, Piz Boe and Setsass, just to the east towards the valley of Cortina d'Ampezzo, with Tofane, Croda Rossa, Pomagagnon, Cristallo, Croda da Lago, etc.

2018 European Holiday - #10 Treviso & Venice

This video is the final one of the 2018 European Holiday series. It covers our last 9 days in the province of Treviso and Venice in Italy.

Background:

In 2018 we finally got to go on a big family holiday to Europe. The trip mainly comprised of us driving around central/northern Italy, and across to France (Cannes and Paris).

Usually, when we are fortunate enough to go on holidays (mostly somewhere in Australia), the children write travel diaries; including drawing pictures reflecting their most memorable experiences.

For this trip, we decided to try creating Vlogs on YouTube; but only published for Private viewing by family and friends.

The main challenge was that Vlogs and travel video editing was all new to us.
Before taking off to Europe, we also really struggled finding family holiday Vlogs that were along the lines of travel shows. I’m sure that there are lots of amazing ones out there… but we just could not find them.

So, now that we are back home, we have decided to publish our short Vlogs in the hope that it might help other families looking for ideas.

Lastly, we would like to call out the following Youtube vloggers for having given us great inspiration, ideas and awesome learning about photography/videography/editing. We are hoping that one day we will be lucky enough to thank them in person.
