Izad-Khast ايزدخواست is a city in the Central District of Abadeh County, Fars Province, Iran.
At the 2006 census, its population was 7,366, in 1,803 families.
It is the first town in Fars Province on the Isfahan-Shiraz Highway.
The Complex of Izadkhast is located in the Fars Province of Iran, roughly 135 km south of Isfahan. The complex consists of Izadkhast Castle, a caravanserai كاروانسرا, and a Safavid-period bridge. The castle structure is of particular interest due to the different architectural styles incorporated into the construction of the building, including Sassanid ساسانيان and Qajar قاجار periods. Indeed, the architecture of the castle is unique to Izadkhast, and only comparisons in building materials can be made to other sites in the region.

This site was added to the UNESCO World Heritage Tentative List on August 9, 2007 in the Cultural category.

Unser Weg führte im März 2017 von unserer Haustür über Osteuropa in die Türkei, durch Iran, Zentralasien, China, Südost-Asien und schließlich nach Singapur. Von dort aus ging es auf einem Containerschiff in 3 Wochen wieder zurück nach Europa. Von Griechenland aus radelten wir zurück nach Hamburg. Genau 585 Tage waren wir unterwegs und bereuen keine Sekunde.

Saru castles (Persian: قلعه های سارو‎‎; also transliterayed as Soru) are two related castles located at 10 km in north east of Semnan, Iran, on mountains of south and north of a valley called Kalâteh Sârū (کلاته سارو, Saru Castle) or Mazra'eh-ye Sârū (مزرعه سارو, Saru Farm). The northern castle, Lesser Saru (ساروی کوچک), is mostly in ruins. The southern castle, Greater Saru (ساروی بزرگ), or simply Saru Castle (قلعه سارو), is the main one and is 100 m higher than the Lesser Saru. It is relatively intact. It has triple defensive outer walls and an unusually double-bend main entrance way, and features a sophisticated water catchment area. The Lesser Saru was used to defend the Kalateh Saru natural springs from which water was pumped to the main castle.

Saru castle(s) are believed to be used by Arsacids, Dabuyids of Tabaristan, Buyids, and eventually by the Ismailis. Saru is relatevely less-researched, and is a well-preserved case to study architecture of the Ismaili castles. The castles are located at 80 km of Gerdkuh, another Ismaili castle of the Qumis region. It is believed that Ismailis built the current castle on the site of an earlier fortification.

The etymology of the word Sârū (سارو) is uncertain.
