♡ Most Interesting and Large Markets in the World【Chatuchak】
Definitely a must to visit when in Bangkok. Plenty of things sold here. Souvenirs, imitations, clothes, books, food and plenty more. Awesome place to be walking around. Fantastic food choices as always. Make sure to bring lots of water. It could get really hot and it is a long walk if you are planning to circle around this place. Good luck and enjoy!
Huge place for shopping. Perfect one for buying souvenir items in Bangkok. The prices will certainly attract you. There are shops that sell foods, drinks as well. Interesting thing is you can see original brand items especially shoes and outfits selling in bit lower prices. Most of the shops offer good discounts on the prices. Shopping is a fun here but rushing for searching things could impact on your feet.
Whatever you may want you will find it here.
You would never know looking at the crowds that there is such a big beautiful park across the street. Nonetheless, there is. They're wonderful exercise equipment and places just to get away from the heat here at the part. It's a wonderful place to go for the children and for yourself after you've been shopping all day.
Getting to Chatuchak market the plenty of vendors on the outside before you even step foot on the inside.One will find that if you are not a native of Thailand there just may be a different price points for you if you are a your peens or American. Once you get inside the market you find that the prices are posted and it's easy to identify what you should or should not pay for an item.
There is everything from socks to underwear to Watches to wood carvings and much much more. Like many places in Thailand, especially Bangkok comment you're going to find massive amounts of counterfeit material here for sale. Note and is especially important for avid shoppers, not all counterfeit items is the same. There are a lot of counterfeit items here yet some of them are really really good knockoffs if you know what you're looking for and understand the price point you're willing to pay.
All in all this will be a great experience even if you choose not to purchase anything simply by saying the mere scales of such a massive shopping location.
The Chatuchak Weekend Market (Thai: ตลาดนัดจตุจักร), on Kamphaeng Phet 2 Road, Chatuchak, Bangkok, is the largest market in Thailand. Also known as JJ Market, it has more than 15,000 stalls, divided into 27 sections. Chatuchak Market sells many different kinds of goods, including plants, antiques, consumer electronics, cosmetics, pets, food and drinks, fresh and dry food, ceramics, furniture and home accessories, clothing, and books.
It is the world's largest and most diverse weekend market, with over 200,000 - 300,000 visitors on a daily basis.
Chatuchak Market has been open since 1942. In 1948, when Prime Minister Plaek Phibunsongkhram had a policy in which every province was required to have their own market. Bangkok chose Sanam Luang to be held as the market. After a few months, the government had to move the market to Sanam Chai, but the market moved back to Sanam Luang in 1958. In 1978, the government used Sanam Luang as a recreational area, so the State Railway of Thailand donated the land on the south side of Chatuchak Park to establish as a market. By 1983, all of the merchants had moved to Chatuchak. At that time the market was called Phahonyothin Market. In 1987, its name was changed to Chatuchak Market.
