Kapunda is a town on the Light River and near the Barossa Valley in South Australia. It was established after a discovery in 1842 of significant copper deposits. The southern entrance to the town has been dominated since 1988 by the 8-metre-tall statue of Map Kernow , a traditional Cornish miner. The statue was destroyed by a fire on the morning of 1 June 2006 but has since been rebuilt by its creator, Ben van Zetten.

Map the Miner, also known as Map Kernow or the Son of Cornwall, is a 7-metre statue commemorating the Cornish mining history of the town of Kapunda in South Australia. Built by Ben van Zetten, the statue stands to at the southern entrance to the town, and is regarded as one of Australia's Big Things. The statue was destroyed by fire in 2006, but it was rebuilt and rededicated 12 months later.

Anlaby or Anlaby Station is a pastoral lease located about 12 kilometres south east of Marrabel and 14 kilometres north of Kapunda in the state of South Australia. The locality was first explored by Europeans in March 1838 by the party of Hill, Wood, Willis, and Oakden, who were scouting an overlanding route from the Murray. The station is the oldest merino stud in Australia and was settled in 1839 by Capt. John Finnis, who called it Mount Dispersion , and stocked it with 12,000 sheep. The property was acquired in 1841 by Frederick Dutton, at which time it was at the frontier of European settlement. Most haunted town in South Australia - Old Tailem Town - Channel 9 News

Where is the most haunted town in Australia?
Well Tailem Town would proudly be putting up it's hand and not just from 'say so' but from the amount of activity gathered over the last 6 years of investigating there.

Channel 9 News visited us to investigate these claims.

People are having problems finding this video so I am putting it up here for easy access.

Tailem Town is around 90 km South of Adelaide and although reputed to be haunted before we researched it... it has still been a challenging and unexpectedly VERY active location. Channel 9 approached us to see if we had any footage... we did but we only gave them the older stuff. We have more, we have better... but we only show it on the tours. Why? Because there is a fine line between scaring people off and bringing them!

This is just a small example from what has fast become known as the most haunted town in South Australia.

Tours run every Saturday with a 2hr Ghost Tour or a 4hr Ghost Hunt.

Haunted Horizons were named 'Best Tour Operator' in South Australia for 2015 in the S.A. Tourism Awards and finalist in the Australian Tourism Awards. That is something to be proud of... and it is a reassurance of a quality tour for you all :)

Situated on the Princes Highway, Warrnambool marks the western end of the Great Ocean Road and the southern end of the Hopkins Highway.
Officially, the cemetery stretches back to 1854 when the first trustees were appointed, but there were some burials prior to that date in one corner of the cemetery which at the time was known as the burial ground. These days it's divided up along the traditional religious lines, although unlike some other cemeteries, instead of everyone being buried facing the same direction (usually East), the headstones here mostly back onto each other. The graves are maintained by the families with the trust looking after the grounds, and it's interesting to note that many of the older graves are obviously well looked after, although a few have certainly also fallen into disrepair.
There are many unmarked graves in Warrnambool, although there is a register which notes who's buried where. This can be a frustrating thing however for those visiting the cemetery on a whim as access to this register is not always available.
