Sringeri Sharada Peetham is one of the four Advaita Vedanta monastery established by Adi Shankara around 800 AD in Sringeri , the others being Dwaraka , Govardhana and Jyotirmath . The Sringeri matha is on the banks of the Tunga River in Chikkamagalur district located in the Western Ghats, India. The Sringeri Sharada Peetham site includes two major temples, one dedicated to Shiva and the other to Saraswati . The Vidyashankara temple was built during the Vijayanagara Empire era on a square plan set inside circles in the Tuluvas and Hoysala apsidal style. It includes shrines and relief carving in reverence of major Hindu gods and goddesses such as Brahma, Vishnu , Shiva, Saraswati, Parvati, Lakshmi, Ganesha, Shanmukha , Durga, Kali and others. The Ranganthaswamy temple in Srirangapatna, in the Mandya district of Karnataka state, India, is dedicated to the Hindu god Ranganatha . It is one of the five important pilgrimage sites of Sri Vaishnavism along the river Kaveri for devotees of Ranganatha. These five sacred sites are together known as Pancharanga Kshetrams in Southern India. Since Srirangapatna is the first temple starting from upstream, the deity is known as Adi Ranga . The town of Srirangapatna, which derives its name from the temple, is located on an island in the river Kaveri.

The Gulbarga Fort is located in Gulbarga City in the Gulbarga district of North Karnataka. It was subsequently significantly enlarged in 1347 by Al-ud-din Hasan Bahmani of the Bahmani Dynasty after he cut off his ties with the Delhi Sultanate; Islamic monuments such as mosques, palaces, tombs, and other structures were also built later within the refurbished fort. The Jama Masjid built later, within the fort, in 1367, is a unique structure built in Persian architectural style, fully enclosed, with elegant domes and arched columns, which is unlike any other mosque in India. It was built to commemorate the establishment of the dynastic rule of the Bahmani kingdom at Gulbarga fort between 1327 and 1424.
