Places to see in ( Munich - Germany ) Schwabing
Schwabing is a borough in the northern part of Munich, the capital of the German state of Bavaria. It is divided into the city borough 4 (Schwabing-West) and the city borough 12 (Schwabing-Freimann). The main boulevard is the Leopoldstrasse. For further information on the Munich boroughs, see: Boroughs of Munich.
Schwabing used to be famous as Munich's bohemian quarter and is still popular among tourists and locals, especially young people, for its accumulation of bars, clubs, and restaurants. Another popular location is the Englischer Garten, or English Garden, one of the world's largest public parks. (Other not so common parks in Schwabing are: Leopoldpark, Petuelpark and Biotop am Ackermannbogen).
The main buildings of Munich's largest universities, Ludwigs-Maximilians-Universität and the Technical University of Munich and Academy of Fine Arts are situated in the nearby Maxvorstadt. A student housing area called Studentenstadt (literally, student city) ist located in the north of Schwabing.
Schwabing became very famous especially during the reign of Prince Regent Luitpold when numerous artists like Ludwig Ganghofer, Heinrich Mann, Thomas Mann, Oskar Panizza, Otto Julius Bierbaum, Frank Wedekind, Ernst von Wolzogen, Gustav Meyrink, Rainer Maria Rilke, Isolde Kurz, Ludwig Thoma, Max Halbe, Annette Kolb, Stefan George, Karl Wolfskehl, Ludwig Klages, Roda Roda, Christian Morgenstern, Max Dauthendey, Mechtilde Lichnowsky, Lion Feuchtwanger, Leonhard Frank, Joachim Ringelnatz, Claire Goll, Oskar Maria Graf, Hugo Ball, Hermann Kesten, Thomas Theodor Heine, Olaf Gulbransson, Bruno Paul, Eduard Thöny and Rudolf Wilke lived or worked there. Lenin was a resident of Schwabing for some years, as was noted psychoanalyst and bohemian Otto Gross. The Countess Fanny zu Reventlow was known as The Bohemian Countess of Schwabing. The gentrification of Schwabing and various construction projects have led to protests, so around 2011.

Join us as we sample the best burger in Split, Croatia featuring special ingredients such as truffle mayo! Having spent considerable amounts of time in Croatia in 2017 and 2018 we can confidently say Croatia is a country for foodies. Bokeria ended up being our favorite restaurant in Split because of the incredible hamburgers they served up featuring truffle mayonnaise, smoked cheese and prosciutto. We also ended up ordering oxtail risotto, lavender cheesecake and a caramel chocolate tart with a cappuccino. All of it was tasty; however, it was the burger that was the star of the show. Best Burger in Split, Croatia | Truffle Mayo Hamburger Travel Food Video Transcript:
For today's lunch video we are here in Split and we're going to be sampling contemporary Croatian food. We found a restaurant (Bokeria) that we're really excited about. It is called Bokeria. We had a look at the menu. It looked pretty good. Sam got a gourmet burger with a truffle sauce. Truffle mayo I think.
We need to start with Sam's burger because my oh my this is a thing of beauty. Let's just zoom in on that.
Okay so this comes with as we mentioned before truffle mayo. It comes with prosciutto here. Prosciutto. Smoked cheese. And it looks like a bit of salad in there.
Maybe a pickle and salad in there. This is so juicy. I can't wait to try it.
That truffle mayo. I haven't had a truffles since our last trip to Croatia a few months ago.
The prosciutto. The smoked cheese. That is just one outstanding gourmet burger.
And the fries. I've been snacking on your fries. I know the fries are worth coming for alone. I like that they have a bit of skin on them.
Cooked to perfection. Crispy on the outside and super mushy in the middle. This is going to be a good meal.
Your turn to try that burger and fries. I let Sam have a bite and then I just stole it.
I snatched it. Well, I think we both really like burgers and risotto. We'll have no problem sharing. Cut it in half. Isn't that delicious. The truffle mayo. I know it is life changing truffle mayonnaise. I know I have it all over my face but I don't even care right now.
The burger is just so juicy as well. I got the oxtail risotto which yeah that looks really unusual. Like we've been having it with seafood or with mushrooms but never with meat.
First time to try it. It has a tomato base and it is really rich. And stew-y in a way. It looks really thick and rich. It has kind of like those bits of shredded meat. It reminds me a bit of pulled pork.
And because our mains were just so good we had to sample the dessert menu.
We had to to see what it is all about. And they have some really creative desserts. For mine I ordered a lavender cheesecake.
Lavender. Like who knew that was an ingredient you could use in the kitchen. Yeah. It is a bit of chocolate. I like how they put it in the jar too. You can tell there is a crumbly layer at the bottom.
It is like halfway between creamy and mousy. It has a nice lavender aroma.
Alright and Sam got really excited about the look of this cake that we're not entirely sure. It looks so beautiful.
I think it is uh caramel chocolate tart.
And it has pistachios on the outside.
Here is the caramel. It might be salted caramel.
Price point for that fabulous meal?
That was fabulous. So that came to 350 Kuna which was 47 Euros. Not cheap. A little bit of a splurge for us. Yes. But yeah that place was a bit more upscale a little bit gourmet type of restaurant.
That was a burger that I will not forget for a very long time.
This is part of our Travel in Croatia video series showcasing Croatian food, Croatian culture and Croatian cuisine.

Der Moselsteig: 4. Etappe Konz - Trier
Weiter Infos unter:
Moselsteig Etappe 04: Konz -- Trier
Saxon Switzerland National Park, Saxony, Germany, May 2015 - Day 2 (Malerweg Section 4)
Hiking in Germany's Saxon Switzerland National Park, incorporating sections of the Malerweg Trail, with my friend from Vienna, Markus Schellhorn, May 2015. Our base was a campsite in the village of Mittelndorf, not far from Bad Schandau, south-east of Dresden. Together with the Bohemian Switzerland in the Czech Republic, the Saxon Switzerland region forms the Elbe Sandstone Mountains. Saxon Switzerland alone has some 1,000 climbing peaks, as well as several hollows. The area is popular with Dresden locals and international climbers alike. It is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been to.
