Kielce is a city in south central Poland with 196,804 inhabitants. It has been the capital city of the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship since 1999, and was previously the capital of the predecessor Kielce Voivodeship . The city is located in the middle of the Świętokrzyskie Mountains , on the banks of the Silnica River, in northern part of the historical Polish province of Lesser Poland. The history of Kielce dates back over 900 years and the exact date when the town was founded remains unknown.   • 1. Cathedral Kielce
    The Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary also called Kielce Cathedral is the name given to a Catholic church that has the status of cathedral and basilica and is located in the city of Kielce in Poland. It is located in the Castle Hill in the heart of the city. It was built in the twelfth century by the then Bishop of Kraków, Gedeon. Destroyed by the Tartars in 1260 was rebuilt. In 1719 Bishop Kazimierz Lubienski restructuring the building in the early Baroque style that still characterizes it. Inside, the three ships have a variety of colors in the frescoes of painters of the nineteenth century Kraków. The high altar, the work of Fontana, is also baroque and rococo style.
