Kjøllefjord is the administrative centre of Lebesby Municipality in Finnmark county, Norway. The village is located on the northwestern part of the Nordkinn Peninsula, on the shore of a small fjord which empties into the larger Laksefjorden. The 0.45-square-kilometre village has a population of 945, which gives the village a population density of 2,100 inhabitants per square kilometre and makes it the largest village in the municipality and one of the largest fishing villages in Finnmark county.The Hurtigruten coastal express boat has regular stops at Kjøllefjord. Slettnes Lighthouse is the northernmost lighthouse on the European mainland. It is located in Gamvik Municipality in Finnmark county, Norway. It sits along the Barents Sea approximately 3 kilometres north of the village of Gamvik on the northern coast of the Nordkinn Peninsula. The 39-metre lighthouse is the only cast iron lighthouse in Finnmark county.This is the easternmost of the three Nordkapp area lighthouses, and it is often considered the North Cape Light, marking the top of Europe. Fruholmen Lighthouse is located about 500 metres farther north, on the island of Ingøya, but the Slettnes Lighthouse is the northernmost lighthouse on the mainland of Scandinavia.

Video highlights. I with my two friends (Dr. Waseem Shaukat & Dr Abdul Rehman) visited Finmark county in Norway from 12 to 15 june 2015. Finnmark is a wonderful county in the extreme northeastern part of Norway...
It was amazing tour. We explored Alta, Hammerfest and along the way to North Cape (The extreme north point of Europe). We were also lucky to observe Midnight Sun i.e Sun during midnight which you can also see in this video. We are very much thankful to our host Dr Aamer Shehzad and family for their nice hospitality

The Sámi are an indigenous people living on Europe’s northern extremes. They are renowned for herding reindeer, for distinctive handicrafts (duodji) and for their affinity with nature. On this excursion you will meet one of the families whose reindeer are at summer pasture on the Nordkyn peninsula. They invite you to a close and evocative encounter around the fire in their sami tent (lavvu), while reindeer graze outside. The family are reindeer herders, artisans and heralds of Sámi traditions. They will give you an insight into the challenges that reindeer herders and Sami culture are facing today. Through stories, chanting (joik), handicrafts and the serving of reindeer broth you will get a taste of Sámi culture.
