13- Koh Lanta Island
Koh Lanta is one of the most pristine islands in Thailand, and an especially attractive destination for beach lovers.
It has crystal-clear water and a beautiful lush forest backdrop. Bamboo Beach has three boutique-style resorts, so it’s never overcrowded.
Other attractions around Koh Lanta include Lanta Old Town and Koh Lanta National Park (also has a beautiful sandy beach). Long Beach is also a popular beach for its swimming, sunbathing, and many restaurants.
14- Monkey Temples of Lopburi
For an experience slightly off the beaten tourist trail, spend a morning exploring the temples of Lopburi. The town is located 150 kilometers northeast of Bangkok and is known for its many ancient ruins, most of which are have not been restored.
15- Ao Phang Nga Bay Marine National Park
Spanning 154 square miles, Ao Phang Nga Bay Marine National Park comprises a group of more than 40 islands and spectacular limestone cliffs that can only be reached by boat.
One of Thailand’s most popular boat trip excursions, the park includes well-known destinations like Ko Panyi, a fishing village where houses are built on stilts over the water.
16- Sukhothai Historical Park
Located about five hours north of Bangkok, Sukhothai was the first ancient capital of the Kingdom of Siam from 1238 to 1438. The Sukhothai Historical Park is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. and a magnificent place to explore by bicycle, car, or walking tour.
Within the park there are several imposing structures. These include Wat Mahatat, the park’s largest temple, the unusual three-pillared Wat Si Sawai temple, and Pra Achana Buddha at Wat Si Chun.
17- Kanchanaburi
Best-known for its dark Second World War past, modern Kanchanaburi town is a laid-back riverside retreat surrounded by green mountains and fertile sugarcane fields.
It is also known for the Bridge over the River Kwai that is linked with the historic Death Railway to Burma in which thousands of Asian laborers and POWS died during its construction under Japanese occupation during WWII.
18- Koh Lipe
Koh Lipe is one of Thailand’s many tropical fantasy islands, covered with shimmering white sands and bordered by clear waters that are home to abundant marine life.
Barely known to tourists before the 1990s, Koh Lipe has seen rapid development in the last five years, but it remains much more untouched than neighboring islands like Phuket and Koh Phi Phi.
19- Ko Phi Phi
Ko Phi Phi is actually composed of six islands, although most of the action is concentrated on Phi Phi Don which is the only inhabited island.
20- Mae Hong Son
Mae Hong Son is home to some of Northern Thailand’s most wonderful scenery, with cloud-cloaked mountains and wide stretches of tranquil countryside.
21- Pai
Once just a quiet village in northern Thailand, Pai is now a booming town that is part of the Mae Hong Son Loop stretching between Chiang Mai and Mae Hong Son.
22- Phanom Rung Historical Park
Sitting on an extinct volcano in northeastern Thailand, Phanom Rung is a Hindu shrine complex regarded for its outstanding architecture.
Located near the village of Nang Rong, this temple sanctuary was built by the Khmer culture between the 10th and 13th centuries as a dedication to the Hindu god, Shiva.
23- Railay
Railay (or Rai Leh) is a small peninsula in south Thailand that is only accessible by boat due to the high limestone cliffs cutting off mainland access.
24- Khao Sok National Park
Considered by many to be one of Thailand’s most beautiful wildlife reserves, the Khao Sok National Park is a lush lowland jungle, filled with mountains, caves, waterfalls, and rare wildlife.
25- Thailand Islands
The islands off the coast of Thailand are famous throughout the world for their beautiful beaches, others for their gorgeous scenery and some even claim their fame for the party atmosphere.
There are three main sets of islands in Thailand. To the east of Bangkok there are Ko Samet and Ko Chang, in the Gulf Ko Samui lie Ko Pha Ngan and Ko Tao, and in the Andaman Phuket and Ko Phi Phi.
