PERHENTIAN ISLANDS IN MALAYSIA! My First Impressions, Finding Accommodation & the Best Beach | Vlog!
There are 2 Perhentian Islands, I planned to visit the small one however there is very limited accommodation available online so this is how I spent my first day. I arrived in the Port town of Kuala Besut at 18:30 which was too late to get a boat from Kuala Besut to the Perhentian Islands as the last boat leaves at 17:30 so I got a room in a hotel in town and left at 9:00am the next morning.
The boats run from Kuala Besut to both the big and small Perhentian Island, a return ticket is 70RM plus a 30RM conservation fee.
I had an accommodation recommendation on Long Beach so got off the boat there. After looking around on Long Beach I decided I didn’t really like it so walked to Coral Beach. I really liked Coral Beach and found accommodation to suit by budget for 50RM at Butterfly Chalet in a basic room but with an amazing view!
I spent the rest of the day chilling on Coral Beach and although I had doubted whether I should have visited the Perhentian Islands and instead just gone to Kuala Lumpur from Georgetown I’m glad I did go!
Most of the accommodation is not online on the small Perhentian Island however there are lots of chalets, huts and small hotels on different beaches, you do have to just arrive and look rather than book online.

Perhentian Islands | MALAYSIA, Terengganu | Let's Travel #9
We stayed one week at this amazing place. It was by far one of our favourite places.
The resort was incredible! Almost no people! Amazing beach with warm transparent water. A lot of different animals (monkeys jumping around on the top of the trees, big lizards, baby sharks, etc.)
I loved it and would return there in a heart beat!

Travel Malaysia: Terengganu, Gem Of The East Coast (ep 16)
Our road trip continues as we drove along the coastal line of the East in Peninsular Malaysia in Terengganu. There were so many beautiful spots in this state that we had fun soaking in the scenery while we flew our drones over the pristine beaches and beautiful monuments in the city.

Perhentian Islands - Tourist Attractions in Malaysia
The Perhentian Islands (Pulau Perhentian in Malay) lie approximately 10 nautical miles (19 km) off the northeastern coast of West Malaysia in the state of Terengganu, approximately 40 miles (64 km) south of the Thai border.
The two main islands are Perhentian Besar (Big Perhentian) and Perhentian Kecil (Small Perhentian). The small, uninhabited islands of Susu Dara (Virgin Milk), Serenggeh and Rawa lie off Kecil. The Perhentians belong to Pulau Redang National Marine Park, which means that fishing, collecting coral and littering are strictly prohibited. Like Besut, people here generally speak Kelantanese Malay.
