Astounding Albay
This video is all about the beautiful country that is the province of Sox (Soccsksargen) Philippines.
Adventures of Gerald and Rhia honors and pays reverence and tribute to this great province. We are staying true to our love for travel as main inspirations that led to the creation our channel that aims to explore and document life's wonders.
Albay is a province of the Philippines located in the Bicol Region in southeastern Luzon Island. The name Bikol first came to be known as the name of the biggest and longest river in the region. The river comes from the outflow of lakes and springs from the provinces of Albay, Camarines Sur and Camarines Norte and form a large stream that exits in the San Miguel Bay, off the shores of Camarines Sur. The people of the region are called Bikolanos and the language is called Bikol.
The citizens of Albay are called Albayanos. Albay is a province composed of 15 towns and 3 cities. The capital of the province is Legazpi City. It was named after Miguel Lopez de Legazpi, the Spanish conquestador who came to the Philippines in 1565 and started the massive colonization. The country became the colony of Spain for the next 300 years. As a result, the Albayanos became devout Catholics. The region is branded as the 12th paradise of the Philippines.
Albay is home to at least 19 festivals that are celebrated all year round by its different cities and municipalities. In each month of the year, tourists will be sure to find revelers dancing in the streets in celebration of a religious or agricultural festival. These festivals last for several days and feature activities showcasing the local culture and practice.
Albay offers not just scenic and cultural destinations. It is globally recognized by United Nations as the model for adapting to the impacts of climate change. After suffering 46% damage in 2006 due to Typhoon Durian, the province quickly recovered by using tourism as one of its principal tools for reconstruction with foreign tourists’ influx. It also built 320 kilometers of roads to provide access to new and unique destinations such as the Cagsawa Ruins, Quitinday Hills, falls, black sand beaches, Japanese caves, colonial houses, historical landmarks to name a few.

Traveler Facts About Me:
* I prefer rolling luggages over backpacks
* I always bring power extension cords when I travel.
* I always have problems sticking to my budget when I’m traveling.
* The worst thing that happened to me while traveling so far was when I was held by the immigration officers in Paris. I made a mistake in my visa application and I actually overstayed in France. But all is well, they did let me go. And they were very nice to me.

Longest Zipline in the world | MINDORO 2019 Travel Guide
#Sablayan #Mindoro #Pandanisland #Longestzipline
Longest island to island zipline in the world and Pandan Island.
I took the plane and flew to Mindoro occidental without a concrete plan, without accommodations and tour package. I went out right away unplanned to see how spontaneous life could be. I wanna get lot and wander, I wanted to dig deeper, explore without any limitations or inhibitions, to discover rich cultures, melt in the warm smiles and hospitality of the people.. and this is what welcomed me in SABLAYAN - a peaceful fishing town, located in the central part of Occidental Mindoro.

World’s Best Preserved Roman Ruins | Jerash | Jordan Vlog Travel Guide
SUBSCRIBE to get notified of our next video!!!
***************************************************
We ended our visit to Jordan with a visit to the world’s best preserved Roman Ruins site outside of Italy. Just outside Jordan’s capital city Amman, this is such an accessible and historically relevant site to visit!
It was eye opening to see such well preserved ancient ruins - a 600m colonnaded street, a Hippodrome where gladiators fought, and a 3000 seat amphitheater with such amazing acoustics that it’s still used for concerts, performances and chariot races today!
After a long day of walking, we fought the traffic in Amman and had some more authentic Jordanian cuisine before heading to the airport. Jordan is a country of such varied landscape and activities, in just a few days we saw one of the world wonders, saw the undersea life at the Red Sea, camped in a Martian-like landscape, floated in the Dead Sea and saw Roman ruins while not even in Italy!
While we were sad to leave Jordan, we’re excited to be heading to our 54th country - Oman!

BORACAY (source Wikipedia):

PHILIPPINES (source Wikipedia):
The Philippines, officially the Republic of the Philippines (Filipino: Republika ng Pilipinas) is a unitary sovereign and archipelagic country in Southeast Asia. Situated in the western Pacific Ocean, it consists of about 7,641 islands that are categorized broadly under three main geographical divisions from north to south: Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. The capital city of the Philippines is Manila and the most populous city is Quezon City, both part of Metro Manila. Bounded by the South China Sea on the west, the Philippine Sea on the east and the Celebes Sea on the southwest, the Philippines shares maritime borders with Taiwan to the north, Vietnam to the west, Palau to the east and Malaysia and Indonesia to the south.
The Philippines' location on the Pacific Ring of Fire and close to the equator makes the Philippines prone to earthquakes and typhoons, but also endows it with abundant natural resources and some of the world's greatest biodiversity. The Philippines has an area of 343,448 square kilometers (132,606 sq mi) and, as of 2015, had a population of at least 100 million. As of January 2018, it was the eighth-most populated country in Asia and the 12th most populated country in the world. Approximately 10 million additional Filipinos lived overseas, comprising one of the world's largest diasporas. Multiple ethnicities and cultures are found throughout the islands. In prehistoric times, Negritos were some of the archipelago's earliest inhabitants. They were followed by successive waves of Austronesian peoples. Exchanges with Chinese, Malay, Indian, and Islamic nations occurred. Then, various competing maritime states were established under the rule of Datus, Rajahs, Sultans or Lakans.
The arrival of Ferdinand Magellan, a Portuguese explorer leading a fleet for the Spanish, in Homonhon, Eastern Samar in 1521 marked the beginning of Hispanic colonization. In 1543, Spanish explorer Ruy López de Villalobos named the archipelago Las Islas Filipinas in honor of Philip II of Spain. With the arrival of Miguel López de Legazpi from Mexico City, in 1565, the first Hispanic settlement in the archipelago was established.
Trip to Albay, Bicol, The Philippines
On a vacation in Albay, Bicol region in the Philippines.
Stayed for 5 weeks in Fatima, Tabaco City. Amazing nature to be found in this place, a real difference to my home country, the Netherlands. Tabaco City is a nice city not too big nor too small, with nice and interesting places to see, kind people to meet and a lot of karaoke bars.
Also visited a few water resorts, like Borcel. Very beautiful place surrounded by nature and an amazing fact is that it uses fresh river water to fill the swimming pools.
The beaches are nice and clean but not the usual white sands, since they are near Mayon volcano. And also enjoyed Jollybee and Graceland ;)
