Lenzburg is a town in the central region of the Swiss canton Aargau and is the capital of the Lenzburg District. The town, founded in the Middle Ages, lies in the Seetal valley, about 3 kilometres south of the Aare river. Lenzburg Castle is a castle located above the old part of the town of Lenzburg in the Canton of Aargau, Switzerland. It ranks among the oldest and most important of Switzerland. The castle stands on the almost circular castle hill , which rises approximately 100 m over the surrounding plain but is only about 250 m in diameter. The oldest parts of the castle date to the 11th century, when the Counts of Lenzburg built it as their seat. The castle, its historical museum and the castle hill with its Neolithic burial grounds are listed as heritage sites of national significance.

The Rhine Falls is the largest waterfall in Switzerland and Europe.The falls are located on the High Rhine on the border between the cantons of Schaffhausen and Zürich , between the municipalities of Neuhausen am Rheinfall and Laufen-Uhwiesen/Dachsen , next to the town of Schaffhausen in northern Switzerland. They are 150 metres wide and 23 metres high. In the winter months, the average water flow is 250 m3/s , while in the summer, the average water flow is 600 m3/s . The highest flow ever measured was 1,250 cubic metres per second in 1965; and the lowest, 95 cubic metres per second in 1921.The falls can not be climbed by fish, except by eels that are able to eel their way up over the rocks.

Located in the Lauterbrunnen Valley, the creek called Trümmelbach alone drains the glacier defiles of Eiger , Mönch , and Jungfrau and carries more than 20,000 tons of boulder detritus per year.Its drainage area is 24 square kilometres , half of it covered by snow and glaciers. Aarau, the capital of the Canton of Aargau, is located on the River Aare to which the town and canton owe their name.

Aarau is located by the southern foot of the Jura foothills in the centre of the big city triangle of Zurich, Basel and Lucerne. The central location was recognised early on which is why Aarau for a brief few months in 1798 was Switzerland's first capital and home to Switzerland's first Houses of Parliament.

The deep Areuse Gorge in Jura mountain is the perfect place for nature lovers. Its well developed trails gives spectacular scenic views of the gorge.

The starting point for this mesmerizing hike is the small town Noiraigue in Val de Travers which is the closest railway station and from there one of the entrance of the gorge is 1 km away.

There are two main trails marked for hiking.

Short route : Noiraigue - Champ-du-Moulin - Boudry
Distance : 11.4 km and takes 2 hrs 45 min.

Long route : Saint-Sulpice - Fleurier - Môtiers - Couve - Travers - Noiraigue - Champ-du-Moulin - Boudry
Distance: 31 km and takes 7 hrs 15 min.

The trail passes through several beautiful waterfalls which are formed in steps.

There are various bridges and the most famous one is stone arch shaped Pont du saut du brot.
