Saint-Malo is a port city in Brittany, in France's northwest. Tall granite walls surround the old town, which was once a stronghold for privateers (pirates approved by the king). The Saint-Malo Cathedral, in the center of the old town, is built in Romanesque and Gothic styles and features stained-glass windows depicting city history. Nearby is La Demeure de Corsaire, an 18th-century privateer’s house and museum.
Walking through the cobbled streets of St Malo’s old town feels like you’ve stepped back in time. This popular tourist destination and busy ferry port offers visitors an authentic glimpse into Brittany’s important seafaring past. Once the feared base of pirates (corsairs), heavily fortified against Norman (or English) attack, today's Saint-Malo is one of the top tourist draws in Brittany. The star of the show is the atmospheric walled city (intramuros), largely destroyed in the Second World War but painstakingly reconstructed. The modern towns of Parame and Saint-Servan lie outside the walls. It is also the birth place of renowned French explorer Jacques Cartier who is famous for exploring Quebec.
Saint-Malo has a good bus system, with the main terminals located at the train station and just outside the walls(St Vincent). Get a booklet with maps and times from any bus driver. A one and a half hour ticket costs €1.15. Unfortunately there are no bus services late in the evening. The walled city is easily covered on foot, but you can also opt for a dinky Tourist Train that takes you and your wallet for a ride (€5.50).

Our Eurocamp Holiday - Les Ecureuils Campsite, Vendee - France
I decided to film one day of our holiday at Les Ecureuils Campsite in Vendee. This video gives you a pretty good insight into what a normal day on holiday is like for us! Take a look inside Eurocamp Official kids club, check out the swimming pool and a little of what there is to do in the area.....
This site was not a picture-perfect French resort and the site was small but we were very impressed with the fantastic facilities, wonderful staff and just how much there was to do for kids in the area within walking distance (beach, circus, fairground, water park, mini golf, go-karting) without it feeling overly-tacky. There's no fine-dining here but again, the quality of the food was absolutely fantastic. Always homemade and plentiful and reasonably priced too. I had my doubts about this place before we visited (thanks Tripadvisor) but it ticked so many boxes for us and I'd definitely recommend to others - perfect if you'd like to tie-in with a trip to Puy du Fou too......

Quimper, France, Brittany / Кемпер, Франция, Бретань / Quimper, France, Bretagne
Quimper is an ancient Breton city, now the capital of the department of Finistère and the district of the same name. Previously, Kemper was the capital of the historical province of Cornoyer. The first settlement on the site of Kemper was founded in the 1st century BC by settlers from the British Isles. The name of the historical province is not accidental in tune with the name of the British Duchy of Cornwall - it is believed that it was from those places that the first Britons arrived and brought their dialect. The time of the foundation of the present Kemper is called the 6th century, and its name is translated from Breton as the merging of rivers - the city is located in a place where the waters of the three rivers are connected. (votpusk.ru)
(votpusk.ru)
