France: The Old Town of Dole
France: The Old Town of Dole
Dole is a commune in the Jura department in the Franche-Comté region in eastern France.
Dole was the capital of Franche-Comté until Louis XIV conquered the region; he shifted the parlement from Dole to Besançon. The university, founded by Duke Philippe le Bon of Burgundy in 1422, was also transferred to Besançon at that time.
Dole is located on the outskirts of Franche-Comté, on the Doubs just before the confluence of the Rhine-Rhône Canal, halfway between Dijon and Besançon (each about 45 km).
Worth seeing is the collegiate church of Notre-Dame from the 16th century with its 75 m high tower. The organ is by Karl Joseph Riepp.
Around the church lies the old town with numerous buildings from the 16th to the 18th century.
The former Jesuit Collège d'Arc now houses a grammar school.
The Art Museum is housed in an 18th-century building, the Pavillon des Officiers. Also Museum is the birthplace of Louis Pasteur.

Le Franco-Suisse - A Dji Mavic 2 movie of the Jura Mountains
Le Franco-Suisse is my first real drone video. I filmed this on both sides of the swiss and french border between St-Cergue, les Rousses and la Vallée de Joux. This is one of my favorite places in the World to go and take in some nature. Shot with the #dji #mavic2zoom
