Road trip to the Eastern most part of India
A sudden trip to the Eastern most part of India turned out to be one of the best trips ever, saw the first Sunlight in India at Dong Valley, took a bath at hot spring near lohit River at walong, scaled the road towards kibithu and reached up till kaho village which happens to be the village in India and just a couple of KMS away from the international border with China. The returned trip was fun filled as well as we went to Hawai which is the district headquarter of Anjaw district. We were on the roads for more than 36hrs in 3 days and 70% of which were hilly tracks

Parshuram Kund
Parshuram Kund(परशुराम कुंड) is a Hindu pilgrimage centre situated on the Brahmaputra valley in the lower reaches of the Lohit River and 21 km north of Tezu in Lohit district of Arunachal Pradesh. Dedicated to sage Parshuram, the popular site attracts pilgrims from Nepal, from across India, and from nearby states of Manipur and Assam. Over 70,000 devotees and sadhus take a holy dip in its water each year on the occasion of Makar Sankranti, in the month of January.
History
The site of the Parashuram Kund as established by the sadhu was in existence until the 1950 Assam earthquake that shook the whole of the North-East and the kund was completely covered. A very strong current is now flowing over the original site of the kund but massive boulders have in a mysterious way embedded themselves in a circular formation in the river bed thus forming another kund in place of the old.
Tourism
Annual fair is held during Makara Sankranti, to which wild cows, rare fur-rugs and other curios are brought down by the mountain tribes. There are also facilities for trekking from Tezu to glow lake which takes one day, hiking and river rafting and angling on the river Lohit.
Connectivity
The nearest railway station is Tinsukia (120 km) from where buses are available via Namsai. There are also buses available from Sadiya. The nearest airports are Tezu and Dibrugarh(Assam).

Trek to Glow Lake | Arunachal Pradesh | Lohit District | India | Northeast |
About Glow Lake :
The famous Glow Lake is located in the eastern most end of India. Very few folks knows and have visited there till date. Its a purely Trekking route. The route is approximately of 14km .Even the local tribal community rarely visit this hill locked massive fresh water lake which is situated in Lohit district of Arunachal Pradesh. It is located at the height of 1200 meter above the sea level. The geographical location of this place is interesting as it is bounded by China(Tibet autonomous region ) to the North and to the east we have a friendly old neighbour Myanmar. There are old sayings and is believed by locals that if any stranger shows up in the lake for the first time it would welcome by mild shower. I read few article about different lakes in Himalayan range it too had the same story. Glow Lake is now under the protection of Kamlang Wildlife Sanctuary, Government of India has declared it as one of the precious gems of hot spot Biodiversity. It is a home to the most rare leopards species, hoolock gibbon and the snow tiger of course. The hot spot is not totally explored and many new species of flora and fauna are still being reported. The lake is spread in an area of massive 8 square kilometers and with a circumference of about 5 kilometers. According to the story of the local tribe , it says that Glow lake and Saly lake which is also a fresh water lake in Dibang Valley of Arunachal Pradesh share a brother sister relation. The nearest hamlet to it is named as Wakro. There is a very famous Hindu pilgrimage site nearby famously known as “Parshuram Kunda” where thousands of devotees visit in the month of January on the occasion of Makar Sangkranti to take holy dip in its water to wash away there sins as Lord Parshuram did.
