Caye Caulker Belize Island - Travel guide 2019
Caye Caulker is and island located a short boat ride from Belize City. In this travel guide we share our experiences and time on the wonderful island.
Caye Caulker is the ideal get away for those looking for the taste of island life. It is home to the most beautiful blue waters and if your looking for the ultimate chill our bar, where you can also enjoy the sea then head down to the Lazy Lizard bar located on the Split.
The split is the name given to the small channel of water that runs straight through the middle of the island.
A trip to Caye Caulker wouldn't be complete without going on one of the many snorkelling tours on offer. The reef that runs down the coastline of Belize and Honduras is the second largest reef in the world.
There are lots of different shops selling snorkelling tours but we decided to use Reef Friendly Tours - They are the most environmentally friendly tours and we like to support businesses who help a good cause. We had a fabulous snorkelling tour and we would not hesitate in recommending them.
Thanks for watching

Know Before You Go To Belize
Planning a trip to Belize? Don't miss these important travel tips before you go. My fiancé and I spent 12 days in Belize at the end of 2018. We visited San Ignacio, Placencia, and Caye Caulker. We also crossed the border to Guatemala for a quick visit to Tikal National Park. If it's your first time heading to Belize, these 23 travel tips cover some of the top things I wish I knew before we went. Already familiar with Belize? Add your own tips in the comments below.
UPDATE: I have addressed any comments relating to drones in Belize, pronouncing things wrong, and calling Belize third-world instead of a developing country, so if I don't respond to your comment about any of those things, that's why. I will continue to grow and learn from my mistakes. This is my first travel tips video, and travel film ( I look forward to making more. Thanks for your support!

Ambergris Caye, Belize Cayes, San Pedro - Best Travel Destination
Ambergris Caye is the largest island of Belize located northeast of the country in the Caribbean Sea. Though administered as part of the Belize District, the closest point on the mainland is part of the Corozal District. It is the only part of Belize that is completely separated from the mainland.
The caye is about 40 kilometres (25 mi) long from north to south, and about 1.6 kilometres (1 mi) wide. It was named after large lumps of ambergris which washed ashore here. The Belizean island, where it has not been modified by man, is mostly a ring of white sand beach around mangrove swamp in the centre. Check out more awesome videos at

Caye Caulker, BELIZE Tour: A Caribbean Island Dream
Caye Caulker, BELIZE Tour: A Caribbean Island Dream
'No Shirt, No Shoes…No Problem.' You'll see this sign everywhere in Belize, but no place is it more apt than Caye Caulker. Indeed, nothing seems to be a problem on this tiny island, where dogs nap in the middle of the dirt road and suntanned cyclists pedal around them. The only traffic sign on the island instructs golf carts and bicycles to 'go slow,' a directive that is taken seriously.
Local residents have traditionally made their living from the sea, specifically from the spiny lobsters and red snapper that inhabit its warm waters. It has also long been a budget traveler's mecca, but in recent years, tourists of all ages and incomes have begun to appreciate the island's unique atmosphere.
On Caye Caulker, there are no cars, no fumes and no hassles, just balmy breezes, fresh seafood, azure waters and a fantastic barrier reef at its doorstep. The easygoing attitude is due in part to the strong Creole presence on the island, which pulses to a classic reggae beat and is home to a small community of Rastafarians.
While the increase in visitors has resulted in more construction and a strain on the islands fledgling infrastructure, the surrounding nature remains both accessible and enthralling.
The island is an ideal base for snorkeling and diving adventures at the nearby reef. The northern part of the island – a tempting destination for kayakers – is mostly mangroves, which are home to an amazing variety of birdlife. Other than that, all visitors should be sure to schedule in plenty of time for swinging in a hammock and enjoying the breeze (which is indeed a legitimate activity on Caye Caulker).
