Road trip from Portugal to Spain's Costa de la Luz.
The soft sand, smooth water and sizzling beaches make Spain's Andalucian region the ultimate destination for the beach-loving traveler. We hit it all on this road trip that has us departing Portugal and hitting a few beaches along Spain's Costa de la Luz.
Before hitting the beaches of Barbate and Canos de Meca, we visit Vejer de la Frontera. We do a quick drive-through tour through the narrow streets of this white-wash village before hitting the beaches around the Cape of Trafalgar.
Barbate beach and Canos de Meca are just warm ups for the final act of Tarifa beach. The crisp, fresh waters of Tarifa make it one of my all time favorites and it certainly did not disappoint this time, either.
Before diving in, however, we ate some delicious, authentic Spanish food (paella and Manchego cheese) at a beachside café - and man, was it good!!!
Spain's best beaches, Tindo de Verano and great Spanish food make for a fantastic road trip!!!

From Portugal to Spain - the road trip continues.
Follow our road trip in the previous videos, when we rolled off from Portugal and toured the Costa de la Luz in Spain, hitting the beaches of Barbate, Canos de Meca and Tarifa (one of the best beaches ever) - with a little trip through Vejer de la Frontera thrown in.
Then we hit the fishing village of Rota, Spain for a night and a day of food, beaches and fun in the sun.
This video takes place the morning after waking up in the hotel Playa de la Luz. The tide was out, so we did some tide pooling.
No life like the good life, and there is plenty of good life in Rota, Spain.

Beach Trip Spain - Barbate Beach, Costa de la Luz
Barbate, Spain is a splendid fishing village on Spain's Costa de la Luz Located between Cadiz and Tarifa.
Known more as a destination for Spanish tourists than Westerners, you can undoubtedly enjoy the good life while soaking sun on some of the softest sand on the Costa de la Luz.
Although this beach isn't the most scenic - no cliffs and caves here - it's spread out and there are plenty of tapas bars on the board walk to keep you busy and entertained for the day.
The water is crisp and refreshing and you'll find the Spanish charm that we love all along the Costa de la Luz - and right here in Barbate.

Spain's Costa de la Luz holds some of the country's and Europe's finest beaches, including Tarifa - where sparkling water and subtle breezes make for an enjoyable day.
In this photo montage put to music, we bounce from Rota, Spain to Cadiz, Canos de Meca and a few favorites of mine - Barbate beach and Tarifa.
Crystal clear water, smooth, soft sand and a desire for the good life made for an historic day for us as we travelled to five beaches in a day.
