LUGANO SWITZERLAND TRAVEL GUIDE
Hi guys, this is my Vlog on the City of Lugano in Switzerland. Lugano is one of the best day trips from Milan Italy. I was spending a few days in Milan and decided to take the day and spend it in this gorgeous city. Lugano is Switzerland's 9th largest city, it is located in one of Switzerland's most incredible regions. It is easily accessible by train, and from there you can visit various parts of the country. Here I talk about my experiences during my visit to the region, give some tips and talk about the history and geography of the place! I hope you guys enjoy my vlog. TOP 5 PLACES TO VISIT IN SWITZERLAND - TICINO || Zak Longo & Hannah Rathbun
A few months back we were invited to Switzerland by the Swiss Tourism Board @MySwitzerland. They asked us to pick two regions we wanted to visit. After some research we decided that Ticino, Switzerland (The Italian speaking part) would be our first stop!
Here are the Top 5 Places to visit in Ticino, Switzerland.
We spent four days exploring Ticino, and it's beautiful lakes, and mountains. We started off in the beautiful town of Lake Lugano. It's like Lake Como's prettier cousin. Then the next day- we headed to Lake Locarno, which was also a beautiful lake, and cool little town. We took the bus from Locarno up the mountain all the way to a small town called Sogno. We enjoyed the mountain view, and a couple bowls of pasta. Then from there- we took the bus back down to Valle Verzasca. This was my favorite part of Ticino by far! Valle Verzasca is a fresh water Alpine river that runs between the mountains. It is a popular spot for people to come and relax, and swim. Highly recommended if you visit Ticino!
Then- on our final days we explored the capital of Ticino- a town called Bellinzona which is famous for it's beautiful castles that surround, and overlook the city.

Lugano, Switzerland
Lugano is a city in southern Switzerland, in the Italian-speaking canton of Ticino, which borders Italy. The historic center is very scenic due to the old arcades that shelter the pedestrian lanes and the waterfront location. Lugano is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Switzerland. The city is home to a number of historic buildings and museums, whilst the surrounding area has many natural sights. Both Lake Lugano and the surrounding mountains provide a wide variety of outdoor activities.
Lugano, Switzerland (Italian part of Switzerland) Day Trip
While we were visiting Lake Como in Italy, we decided to visit Lugano as it was just a close 30 minute ride by train.
As a day trip it's totally worth and I imagine that continuing on from here would make it a great starting point as well.
