It was built by the forces of Nazi Germany between 1943 and 1944 to serve as a launch base for V-2 rockets directed against London and southern England, and is the earliest known precursor to modern underground missile silos still in existence. Loisirs et Nature - Le Mastrou
Le train de l'Ardèche est le nouveau Mastrou. La ligne à voie étroite a été construite à flanc de colline par plus de 1000 ouvriers entre 1886 et 1891. Au départ de Tournon-sur-Rhône, le train de l'Ardèche s'enfonce dans les gorges du Doux. Emblématique du réseau, les locomotives à vapeur de type Mallet sont articulées pour mieux s'inscrire dans les courbes serrées des gorges. Deux d'entre elles ont été restaurées en 2013 : la n°403, construite en 1903, classée « monument historique », et la n°414, datant de 1932.
