VLOG_007: ADVENTURE TO SARDINAYACU IN SANGAY NATIONAL PARK - ECUADOR
The Sangay National Park is the third largest in surface within continental Ecuador. It covers 4 provinces (Tungurahua, Chimborazo, Morona Santiago and Cañar). This video represents a 3-day expedition made in the central-eastern area of the Sangay National Park, within the lake complex of Sardinayacu. Quilico Drones traveled to the city of Macas, where officials of this protected area provided the support to travel the stretch that separates the entrance to the park, in the Nueva Alianza refuge and the vicinity of the Cormorán lake, the third of five lagoons in Sardinayacu.
There are no words to describe so much abundance of life in a unique state of conservation with a landscape of jungles and mountains that make Sardinayacu a place of contemplation, admiration and respect for nature.
To the west of Cormorán camping site, the Sangay volcano rises majestically. It is a stratovolcano that rises in the middle of the Paramo of the Cordillera Real. With an altitude of 5,230 meters above sea level (17.160 FASL) it is currently the most active volcano in the area (emission of gases, pyroclastic flows, ash and lava) in Ecuador and it is known that erupted for the last time in 1628, year from which it remains in constant activity.
The Sangay volcano is an ode to nature, it is a giver of life and a modifier of it. Their insides keep secrets unveiled, because their inaccessibility still preserves pristine sites that hopefully persevere forever.
Our gratitude to Paúl Velín S., Víctor León, to the Park rangers staff that accompanied the expedition and to Bio. Jorge Brito for his invaluable scientific contributions and information of the protected area.
Featuring scenes from both Sardinayacu lake complex and Sangay volcano in Ecuador. Enjoy and feel free to leave any questions in the comment section below.

20 Things to do in São Paulo, Brazil Travel Guide
Visiting Sao Paolo was a bit intimidating. We weren't really sure what to expect prior to visiting South America's largest city, however, we found that in that midst of the crowds and chaos there were cool pockets filled with parks, street art, and an abundance of restaurants. For this video, we also had two of our Brazilian friends join us and they were able to provide a unique window into the city. This travel guide will showcase 20 things to do in Sao Paulo, Brazil:

Our visit São Paulo travel guide documentary covers some of the top attractions including a food guide (best restaurants and street food), top museums and São Paulo at night. We also cover off-the-beaten-path activities you won't find in a typical São Paulo tourism brochure or São Paulo, Brasil city tour.
20 Things to do in São Paulo, Brazil Travel Guide and Top Attractions Video Transcript:
Within the park grounds you’ll find the Afro-Brasil Museum, which is a contemporary museum that looks at African culture and influence in Brazilian society. And not too far from there, you’ll come across the Museum of Modern Art.
Batman Alley is located in Vila Madalena and it has become a popular tourist and Instagram spot. Apparently the place gets its name because the first piece of graffiti to go up was one of Batman back in the 1980s.
If you’re a football lover, this is a place you won’t want to miss.
Being the foodies that we are, we couldn’t skip the Municipal Market. Here you can find exotic fruits, fresh vegetables, meats, spices and even restaurants. We went there right around the lunch hour to try the famed mortadella sandwich.
From there, we visited Sao Paulo Cathedral. We only learned this after our visit, but there’s a crypt you can visit.
Next up we headed to the neighbourhood of Liberdade, which has the largest Japanese community in the world outside of Japan. We decided to hit up a sushi buffet for some food!
That evening we met up with our Brazilian friends, who took us out for a night on the town.
That morning we visited Pinacoteca do Estado, which is a cool art museum that focuses on works by Brazilian artist or works with Brazilian subject matter.
After that we headed over to Parque da Luz. This park is right next to the museum and it has a lot of interesting sculptures scattered about.
Sao Paulo’s Teatro Municipal first opened in 1911. The Martinelli building is 30 stories high and it was the first skyscraper in South America.
And that’s a quick look at how we spent 2 days in Sao Paulo. We hope you enjoyed this guide and that it gave you some ideas on how to tackle South America’s largest city. As always, if you have any other suggestions of fun things to do in Sao Paulo, feel free to share those with us in the comments below.
This is part of our Travel in Brazil video series showcasing Brazilian food, Brazilian culture and Brazilian cuisine.

Ecuador is a relatively small country by South American standards at 109,483 square miles or about the same size as Japan, New Zealand and the UK incl. Ireland, with a population hovering around 13 - 16 Million.
It appears to be heavily influenced by the USA though, as most imported manufactured goods tend to be from the States, like all Cigarettes, canned foods, machinery, trucking and a lot of the cars etc. They even use the US Dollar which we find bizarre, but after their disaster with their own Sucre currency in 2000, they could only stabilise the situation by adopting the dollar. Of course with the use of the dollar it has made goods and services more expensive so it is not a cheap country except where and how the poor live. Americans and Canadians flock there to retire as anyone with $25,000 can buy a property or business and live there forever as long as you have about $1000 a month coming in, per person. It is paradise for some but far from it for us.
