Rose Hill Cemetery is in Macon, Georgia, U.S. The cemetery opened in 1840. The cemetery is part of a self-guided walking tour of Macon and is the site of the bi-annual Rose Hill Ramble sponsored by the Middle Georgia Historical Society. It was designed by Simri Rose. Rose was instrumental in the planning of The City of Macon and planned Rose Hill Cemetery, in return for being able to choose his own burial plot. The cemetery was a hangout and artistic inspiration for the Allman Brothers Band during their early years. The Allman Brothers' slide guitarist Duane Allman, keyboardist and vocalist Gregg Allman and bassist Berry Oakley are interred here, side by side. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.

The Cannonball House located in Macon, Georgia, United States was constructed in 1853. The house was named the Cannonball House because of cannonball-inflicted damage sustained during the Civil War. The house was built using an authentic Greek revival architectural style and is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. The recreated meeting rooms of the Adelphean and Philomathean societies can be found on display inside the house. The entire house is furnished to the 1853 period. The rear of the Cannonball House is occupied by a two-story kitchen built of hand-molded brick. The upper level of this house formerly served as servants' quarters. Sidney Clopton Lanier was an American musician, poet and author. He served in the Confederate States Army as a private, worked on a blockade-running ship for which he was imprisoned , taught, worked at a hotel where he gave musical performances, was a church organist, and worked as a lawyer. As a poet he sometimes, though not exclusively, used dialects. Many of his poems are written in heightened, but often archaic, American English. He became a flautist and sold poems to publications. He eventually became a professor of literature at the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, and is known for his adaptation of musical meter to poetry. Many schools, other structures and two lakes are named for him, and he became hailed in the South as the poet of the Confederacy.

Fort Hawkins was a fort built in 1806–1810 in the historic Creek Nation by the United States government under President Thomas Jefferson and used until 1824. Built in what is now Georgia at the Fall Line on the east side of the Ocmulgee River, the fort overlooked the sacred ancient earthwork mounds of the Ocmulgee Old Fields, now known as the Ocmulgee National Monument, and the Lower Creek Pathway. A trading settlement and later the city of Macon, Georgia, developed in the area prior to the construction of the fort, with Scottish fur traders being in the area as early as the 1650s. Later, the fort would become important to the Creek Nation, the United States, and the state of Georgia for economic, military, and political reasons. The Mark Twain Boyhood Home & Museum is located on 206-208 Hill Street, Hannibal, Missouri, on the west bank of the Mississippi River in the United States. It was the home of Samuel Langhorne Clemens, better known as author Mark Twain, from 1844 to 1853. Clemens found the inspiration for many of his stories, including the white picket fence, while living here. It has been open to the public as a museum since 1912, and was designated a National Historic Landmark on December 29, 1962. It is located in the Mark Twain Historic District.
