Zaina falls day trip by Kenya Outdoors
A spectacular and adventurous excursion to Aberdares Ranges through to Zaina falls one of the best Kenyan hidden tourist attraction through Kamuyu shopping center.
This is only discovered after one takes the initiative to trek down a slope which would qualify to be one of the best natural gyms.
The slope stands at over 60% and by mere climbing up and down the hill, one is sure of losing at least a kilo for every two trips they make on the trail.
After trekking down for about 200 metres,a stunning sight of a water fall appears from the bushes.
The valleys themselves are exquisite scenery. At the floor of the valley one is met with some clean water springs whose water is as sweet as honey having been filtered by the dense vegetation upstream.
The Nature walks/Trekking/Short hikes takes about 2-3 hours up and down to the falls, hence its also ideal for Novice hikers/Beginners

It is an time when the maa warriors (Lamuarn)/(Ilmurani) stays together in in the bush, eating only meat and herbal medicine to gain strength to the body and mind.
Traditional this time has been used to prepare for war/raids and to be able to stay strong and healthy long periods. Also it has had a purpose to heal someone who fallen very sick.
Orpull gives an opportunity to gain strength in the group, practice singing, dancing, use of weapons, making of weapons etc.
It is also a opportunity to fully learn how to use the local available herbs (for soup/motorik), practice slaughtering correctly, how to differentiate and prepare all body parts.
Traditionally the maa lamuan stayed for about 3 months in a row every year and is seen as one of the secrets behind their great fighting power.
Today poverty and lack of animals has shortened this time dramatic but is still practiced by real warriors in less assessable areas of the maa people.
