  • 1. Cavalry Tank Museum Ahmadnagar
    The 1st Horse is a cavalry regiment of the Indian Army, which served in the British Indian Army before independence. The regiment was raised in 1803 as Skinner's Horse by James Skinner as an irregular cavalry regiment in the service of the East India Company. It was later renamed the 1st Bengal Lancers. The regiment became the senior cavalry regiment of the Armoured Corps of the Indian Army, second only to the President's Bodyguard. A second regiment of Indian Cavalry was raised by Colonel James Skinner in 1814, which became the 3rd Skinner's Horse. On the reduction of the Indian Army in 1922, 1st and 3rd Regiments were amalgamated and became Skinner's Horse and later the 1st Duke of York's Own Lancers until 1950.

  • 2. National War Museum Pune
    The National War Memorial Southern Command is a war memorial in Pune Cantonment, India, dedicated to post-Independence war martyrs. This is the only war memorial in South Asia which has been erected by citizens' contributions.The memorial was unveiled and dedicated to the nation on 15 August 1998. A MiG-23BN, used in the Kargil War, is on display at the memorial.A replica of the now decommissioned frigate INS Trishul, which served in the Liberation of Goa and the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971, is also on display. Recently, the Pune Cantonment Board sanctioned a sum of ₹32,00,000 for renovation of the memorial. The work included laying a new lawn, landscaping and laying pathways for visitors.

    The Regiment of Artillery is an operational arm of the Indian Army. Formerly part of Royal Indian Artillery of British Indian Army which itself traces its origins to the formation of Bombay Artillery in 1827. It was later involved in extensive service in the First World War, in East Africa, Gallipoli, Mesopotamia and Palestine . Today it is the second largest arm of the Indian Army, and with its guns, mortars, rocket launchers, unmanned aerial vehicles, surveillance systems, missiles and artillery firepower it constitutes almost one-sixth of its total strength.
