Switzerland Travel Guide: Exploring Davos In Winter
Davos, Switzerland is famed for some of the countries best skiing. This area first started attracting visitors looking to cure tuberculosis. It was believed that the clean and crisp mountain air would prove a cure and later transformed into a ski town and Europe’s highest mountain restort at more than 5,100 feet.
Winter sports are why most people visit Davos- coming to explore the vast terrain and steep chutes.
The different mountains have something for every skiier- for a varied mountain and terrain park check out Jackobshorn. Parsenn is the highest of all the ski areas with one run stretching 7.5 miles. Families will love Madrisa ski resort with wide and gentle groomed slopes and also Rinerhorn where there is a kids park and night skiing is game on certain nights. And Pischa is the perfect spot for night freeriders looking for backcountry fun.

Crossing the Rhine by Cable car at Koblenz
This cable car line, also known as the BUGA cable car, was built in 2011 to connect the river level area of Koblenz (where the River Moselle meets the River Rhine) to the Ehrenbreitstein Fortress. It is Germany's first three-wire cable car system. It operates with 18 cabins and has the capacity of transporting 7,600 people per hour. These pictures were recorded on a descent crossing on Monday 3rd August 2015.
