Campora San Giovanni, Calabria, Italy
FOLLOW MY JOURNEY ON FACEBOOK :
I thought that Campora San Giovanni looked like a nice place to spend a few days and I spent a few days there! It is a village on the Tyrrhenian Sea coast of Calabria, Italy, a part of Amantea for administrative purposes. The town is new and has wide modern streets, the only building of any age is a fourteenth century tower. I go up into the hills above the town which offers wonderful views of the Tyrrhenian Sea!
My channel on you tube : is one of the most prolific from Poland. I have produced over 2,500 original films.
My big interest in life is travel and history but I have also placed films on other subjects.
Please feel free to ask questions in the public area or to comment on things you disagree with. Sometimes there are mistakes because I speak without preparation. If I see the mistakes myself, I make this clear in the text. Please also leave a star rating!
I am very fortunate that I can spend a large part of my life travelling, thanks to the business I chose to run which allows me to do this. There are a number of films here on the packaging industry. This is because I am the publisher of Central and Eastern European Packaging -- - the international platform for the packaging industry in this region focusing on the latest innovations, trends, design, branding, legislation and environmental issues with in-depth profiles of major industry achievers.
Most people may think packaging pretty boring but it possibly effects your life more than you really imagine!
Central and Eastern European Packaging examines the packaging industry throughout this region, but in particular in the largest regional economies which are Russia, Germany, Poland, Czech Republic, Ukraine and Austria. That is not to say that the other countries are forgotten, they are not, but obviously there is less going on. However the fact that there are so many travel related films here is not from holidays but from business trips attending trade fairs around the region. Every packaging trade fair is a new excuse to make another film!

Reggio Calabria, Italy - a walk back in time along the sunny Waterfront Lungomare (October 7, 2013)
Monday morning (October 7th 2013), shortly after 10am, we got off the cruise ship Navigator of the Seas in our first Port of Call, MESSINA (also know as the DOOR of Sicily) !
We were in the waters of the Tyrrhenian Sea with the Town of Messina in one side and Reggio Calabria on the other side.
Before 11am, we arrived at the MARINA and immediately took the next FERRY (Ustica lines) to cross over to REGGIO Calabria - our first destination!
Note that Ustica Lines offers a hydrofoil service -- passengers only!
COST for one way ferry ticket (Messina to Reggio Calabria OR Reggio Calabria to Messina): €3.25 EURO/per person (basically €6.50 round-trip ticket meaning less than $9.00 USD) -
35 minutes ride and gorgeous weather for October - high 60s F (close to 30 Celsius degrees)!
Frequent trips are available every day (the ferry goes back and fourth basically) and we had a pleasant and comfortable ride both ways!
In REGGIO CALABRIA, we walked the sunny Promenade - following the water - all way down to the TRAIN STATION (Stazione Centrale) as our next destination was the picturesque village of Scilla !
Palms, happy people, colorful statues (i.e. Statue di Rabarama or the Statue of Liberty), tempting smells of the local cuisine and lots of historical signs (i.e. museums, palaces, even the Roman baths) made us think that one day, we should come back to visit this city!
