7. Adam's Bridge Mannar
Adam's Bridge , also known as Rama's Bridge or Rama Setu , is a chain of limestone shoals, between Pamban Island, also known as Rameswaram Island, off the south-eastern coast of Tamil Nadu, India, and Mannar Island, off the north-western coast of Sri Lanka. Geological evidence suggests that this bridge is a former land connection between India and Sri Lanka.The bridge is 30 km long and separates the Gulf of Mannar from the Palk Bay . Some of the sandbanks are dry and the sea in the area is very shallow, being only 1 to 10 metres deep in places, which hinders navigation. It was reportedly passable on foot up to the 15th century until storms deepened the channel: temple records seem to say that Adam's Bridge was completely above sea level until it broke in a cyclone in 1480.

Beddagana Wetland Park -Sri Lanka is a wetland nature park 18 hectare in extent located within the highly urbanized administrative Capital - Sri Jayewardenepura Kotte. The new Parliament Complex of the country is very close proximity to this wetland park. Mosaic of wetlands fringe the Beautiful waterfronts of Diyawanna Lake around the Parliament Complex and Beddagana wetland is one of this green entities.

Beddagana Wetland Park is nestled within the Sri Jayewardenepura Kotte Bird Sanctuary and is home for many endemic birds and other faunal species such as butterflies, dragonflies, and mammals native to Sri Lanka and Asian Wetlands. Variety of floral species common to an inland wetland comprising of endemic and threatened category create the niches of the habitat. The Park is a popular stopover of the complex density of migrant birds during its season from August to April each year.

Rameswaram, (also spelt as Ramesvaram, Rameshwaram) is a town and a second grade municipality in the Ramanathapuram district in the South Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is located on Pamban Island separated from mainland India by the Pamban channel and is about 40 kilometres from Mannar Island, Sri Lanka. It is situated in the Gulf of Mannar, at the very tip of the Indian peninsula. Pamban Island, also known as Rameswaram Island, is connected to mainland India by the Pamban Bridge. Rameswaram is the terminus of the railway line from Chennai and Madurai. Together with Varanasi, it is considered to be one of the holiest places in India to Hindus, and part of the Char Dham pilgrimage.

Watch this Dhanushkodi India Sri Lanka Border vlog which is also a Bay of Bengal and Indian Ocean meeting point. Dhanushkodi shares the only land border between India and Sri Lanka, which is one of the smallest in the world at 45 meters.

Dhanushkodi is an abandoned town at the south-eastern tip of Pamban Island of the state of Tamil Nadu in India. It is situated to the South-East of Pamban and is about 18 miles (29 km) west of Talaimannar in Sri Lanka.

Dhanushkodi is located on the tip of Pamban island separated by mainland by Palk Strait.

Boat mail express ran from Chennai Egmore to Dhanushkodi till 1964 when the metre-gauge branch line from Pamban to Dhanushkodi was destroyed during the 1964 Dhanushkodi cyclone.

Dhanushkodi is half an hour away from Rameshwaram. Rameshwaram is accessible via Chennai and Bangalore via Bus and Trains.

You can find regular buses till Dhanushkodi beach and
then find minibuses that take you to the Ghost Town.

The bus charges 20 bucks and the minibus takes between INR 100 to 150 depending on the season. You can also hire a 4×4 jeep from
Rameshwaram for INR 1200. Four people are allowed in the jeep.

The jeep and bus services is shut down between June and last week of August.

The island of Sri Lanka lies in the Indian Ocean, to the southwest of the Bay of Bengal. With heavy outside culinary influences Sri Lanka’s cuisine (and its music) is delightfully eclectic and varied. Visitors will be surprised at the breadth of attractions to visit in Sri Lanka.

Scenic Beauty of Haputale in Sri Lanka

Haputale is a scenic hill town belongs to Badulla district, the center part of Sri Lanka. This small hill station is 1431 meters above the sea level. The climate is cooler throughout the year. I made a solo trip and traveled by Expo Rail from Nanu Oya Railway Station to Haputale Railway Station. I stayed one night at Olympus Plaza Hotel.

The main tourist attraction of Haputale is the Lipton’s Seat. I enjoyed a romantic drive from Dambatenne to Lipton’s Seat. It was such a scenic road trip. Haputale is one of my top favorite travel destinations in Sri Lanka. The scenic beauty of Haputale in Sri Lanka was too cool to explore from Lipton's Seat.
