The Best Places to Visit in Vermont, USA
The Best Places to Visit in Vermont, USA
Vermont is equal parts myth and reality. A mere mention of its name and images appear: sunlit meadows of black-and-white cows, dazzling white ski trails, tidy hillside farms, blazing red maple trees along a stone wall, covered bridges, buckets collecting sap for maple syrup.
Vermont is a place, but also a state of mind that revels in outdoor beauty, good food, and the preservation of unique small towns and cities. Visitors love Vermont for its colorful fall foliage; ski mountains like Killington, Manchester, Stowe, and Mount Snow; mountain vistas; and attractions for families and kids. Although Vermont is an inland state, it has beaches and water sports at the Lake Champlain, along with many lakes, streams, and swimming holes.

But day hikers can enjoy segments of the trail, and use the miles of well-maintained side trails to reach the more than 40 summits the Long Trail connects. Foliage color generally starts to change in the higher, cooler areas of the Green Mountains, spreading down into the Lake Champlain Valley and Connecticut River Valley, and moving from north to south across the state. The exact timing of the color change varies from year to year, based on the weather.

The Weirdest Laws of Ohio!
You can find these crazy laws on Dumblaws.com
They are laws that are still on the books, although they may not be enforced.
1)
In Ohio, it is illegal for more than five women to live in a house.
This apparently was put in place to prevent brothels. (place of prostitution)
2)
It is illegal to fish for whales... on Sunday.
The rest of the week is fine though.
3)
In Cleveland Women are prohibited from wearing patent leather shoes in public.
Apparently this one came about from complaints that men were trying to see reflections of their underwear.
4)
It is illegal to get a fish drunk.
This must have come about from people feeding them beer and then they become alcoholic, want more and they have to make a fish-rehab centre...
5)
In Cleveland, it is illegal to catch mice without a hunting license.
It's likely that this one came about from people using them for macabre taxadermy diaramas like on Dinner for Schmucks
6)
In Columbus, it is illegal for stores to sell Corn Flakes on Sunday.
7)
In North Canton, It's illegal to roller skate without notifying the police.
8)
In the state of Ohio, it is illegal to kill a housefly within 160 feet of a church without a license.
9)
In Canton, electric fences are banned.
you can imagine irate ramblers getting surprise shocks and then complaining to the authorities
10)
In Oxford, it is illegal to drive around the town square more than 100 times in a single session.
Can I drive around it 99 times?
Sure.
11)
In Canton, if one loses their pet tiger, they must notify the authorities within one hour.
12)
In Oxford it’s illegal for a woman to strip off her clothing while standing in front of... a man’s picture.
This one is interesting, because How would anyone know? Unless she was doing it in a public place. And then surely the rule is it's illegal for a woman (or man) to strip off in public?
13)
In Paulding a policeman may bite a dog to quiet him.
Unfortunately that's all it says, as crazy as that sounds.
