Mariannelund is a locality situated in Hässleby parish in Eksjö Municipality, Jönköping County, in the region of Småland, Sweden with 1,468 inhabitants in 2010.Mariannelund is situated in the Småland highlands , 39 km east of Eksjö. Kalmar is a city in the southeast of Sweden, situated by the Baltic Sea. It had 36,392 inhabitants in 2010 and is the seat of Kalmar Municipality. It is also the capital of Kalmar County, which comprises 12 municipalities with a total of 236,399 inhabitants . From the thirteenth to the seventeenth centuries, Kalmar was one of Sweden's most important cities. Between 1602 and 1913 it was the episcopal see of Kalmar Diocese, with a bishop, and the Kalmar Cathedral from 1702 is still a fine example of classicistic architecture. It became a fortified city, with the Kalmar Castle as the center. After the Treaty of Roskilde in 1658, Kalmar's importance diminished, until the industry sector was initiated in the 19th century. A trip to Småland, Sweden July 2007

My friend Lene and I went to Småland for 10 days in July 2007. We are both spastics, though Lene's disability is a minor one. We had two helpers, Pedro, and Günther, with us from Denmark. During the trip we visited Astrid Lindgren's World and the real Katthult, Gibberyd, where the films about Emil was shot. It was a great trip, which I enjoyed very much.

This line has gone through tremendous changes since this video was shot. Electrification occured in 2005-2007. The Y2 trains where sold to Danmark and Israel.
