USA Tour -Part 7 -Glacier National Park (Montana)
We drove up Montana and settled at a campground near the town of Boulders. We first had a beer each at the local tavern and then went to the campsite - Merry Widow Health Mine.
We didn’t realize it but we ended up in a very interesting place. This health mine has healing powers. People come all over the world to experience it and get healed. The mine releases radon gas, people go into the mine for an hour three times a day for 10 days. They miracles that have come from this has been amazing says the owner. A Chinese women who was once in a wheelchair and in exrutiating pain, now pain free and walks. You also soak your feet and hands in the spring water from the mine and apparently that does wonders too.
26th June - we woke up, had break, started our washing and then went for a tour in this mine. It was quite creepy but super interesting, so many people inside, we put our feet and hands in the water, but it as like ice water, so we could only do it for like 3 min, you supposed to soak for 10. They had a room with a bath for pole to bath in the water, and a room for your dogs. there were tables and chairs inside and families playing cards to pass through the hour. we left and hit the road toward glacier national park.
We found a cute town we really liked called Augusta, an estate/garage sale caught our eye first, we didn’t know what to expect but it ended up being amazing, soooo much jewelry and other stuff of value. I found the most precious god locket and chain with the initials J on it. Jarrod got it for me for my birthday. We then bought one groceries from the local place and jarrod found a pub called Lazy B. We stopped in there and the owners, Are and Zac were super friendly and welcoming. Met his mother and adopted son, corbin. There was a ladies 90h birthday happening too and they inited us to eat there food and cake. The people were very friendly. After 3 beers, we hit the road toward glacier. We ended up stopping at a campground in the reserve, t was super quiet, in the woods, with no one around. It was perfect. again freezing, colder then Breckenridge, much more snow on the mountains.
27th June - In the morning i made oats while jarrod replaced the air filter and spark plugs in the van. We hit the road, toward a town near glacier called Kalispell. We want to do some servicing on the van at the walmart - wheel alignment etc. and find a nice place to sleep tonight as its my birthday tomorrow - the big 30.
When we go to the walmart jarrod surprised me to a spa treatment at a nearby nail salon. He dropped me, i went and had breakfast and then went and had a manicure, pedicure and eyebrow wax. It was amazing. Jarrod did an oil change while i did that, we then drove toward a town called Eureka and arrived at Eda Range. The most beautiful little place. We got the honeymoon suite with a round bed, mirrors and the walls and ceiling and a hot tub/bath with jets. It was a little piece of heaven… Oh and a fire place. Our room overlooked the cutest little lake. Jarrod did some fly fishing while I cooked in the outside BBQ area.
28th June - my 30th, I woke up and Jarrod gave my beaitufl present. I was so surprised as I thought was getting the necklace I chose but he had sneakily managed to get the engraving polished out and got an S and SKI engraved on the back. It was such a surprise, I was soooo happy, as well as my bandana. He made us coffee, i the fielded a few calls from family and friends, I was a miserable day but that didn’t stop us. We bought and ear piercing kit from walmart and jarrod pierced my upper ear… It was a thrill.. We convinced vickie to take us on a horse ride, I rode Caity, jarrod tux. They were beautiful horses, we were deep in our ride when we heard gun shots, this was quite scary as it made the horses very skittish. We then turned around and went back. We then went to the local pizza joint in eureka called valley pizza, it was delish and e got two cupcakes to take home. It was THE BEST BIRTHDAY EVER. we spent another night at EDA ranch.
- [ ] 29th - we had to be out the room at 10. Jarrod then made a video for Granny Wins funeral. So we used their facilities, I did some laundry. We left at 3 and drove to Glacier. WOWOWOWOWO glacier is amazing. So much snow, beautiful windy road called the sun road that travels for 51km up into the glaciers. It was such a beautiful drive. The rivers were crystal clear and blue, the trees tall, green and lush forest. The mountains sharp and snow covered. We saw a black bear scratching into a tree trying to find a snack. All

This is one of the most beautiful stretches of interstate 40 in North Carolina and Tennessee. Thee best part is around the 15 mile marker to the Tennessee state line. As far as the video goes it gets some of the best parts starting around the 4:30 minute point and the 10:00 on. minute is probably the best. I drove for a company at one time that took us through there quite often and you never get tired of seeing it. This stretch of interstate is known as the gorge due to the fact that its cutting right through the Appalachian mountains. The speed limit for trucks is 50 because of the curves and a bit of grade at times. There were times at night we were rolling just a little bit ( wink wink ) over the speed limit and notice how the inside lane at times says no trucks in this lane we followed that as well (wink wink). Trucks pay the most for road taxes yet there are areas where you're restricted on lanes so the poor cars can see ahead. Well quit trying to go 80, quit the big hurry and get off of our bumper and that would not be a problem. Some areas of the video look like a basic road through the hills but give it time and there are some pretty good shots. They have had rock slides there with rocks the size of small houses shutting it down for quite awhile. One happened while I was driving for that other company about 3 weeks after I had been through there. I was heading west and if you look off to the left (which you can't see in the video) there are rapids running down below with a rock wall at times with trees on the side of it. This area is quite the site to see in the fall when the colors are at there prime. Unfortunately it was misting out and I had to run the wipers. Had it been a bright sunny day it would look much nicer. The company I currently drive for really doesn't get out that way so had to take what I could get. Here is a link to read about that slide
