Maydena is a locality in Tasmania, Australia, alongside the River Tyenna. Maydena is on the Gordon River Road, south west of New Norfolk, through the Bushy Park Hop Fields, past the Styx Valley, turn left at Westerway, past Mount Field National Park and Russell Falls, through Tyenna and Fitzgerald townships and then up to Maydena itself. Gordon River Road continues to Lake Pedder, Lake Gordon and Strathgordon, in the Southwest National Park of Tasmania. At the 2006 census, Maydena had a population of 245.Maydena has a state primary school and a community online centre.

The Mystery Creek Cave Trail is in the World Heritage Area. It's well marked and leads to the remains of a limestone quarry and to the entrance of the Mystery Creek Cave, part of the Ida Bay Caves.

To reach the start of the trail, turn right about 1km from Ida Bay Railway station into the South Lune Road. After 4km turn left. The road ends at a car park. Start the trail beside the information shelter. The rail trail is the first section of a walking route into the Southern Ranges via Moonlight Ridge to Mount La Perouse.

Gordon Dam, South West Tasmania

Our look at Gordon Dam, located down in the far south west corner of Tasmania.

It is a beautiful part of Tasmania, deep in the South West National Park. About 10 minutes drive from Strathgordon.

Lake Pedder - Tasmania

Out for a day drive to Lake Pedder Tasmania and HELLO its raining again !! LOL

This drive takes you through New Norfolk, Glenora, Maydena, National Park and then onto Strathgordon. Look forward to taking this trip again sometime when the weather is good.
