EXPLORING WEST OF BALI - MEDEWI BEACH BEST SURFING SPOT #BaliGoLiveAdventure #BaliGoLiveDestination
Once, Medewi Beach was a thick forest of thorny trees (Meduwi). Now, it has become popular as one of the best surf spots in West Bali.
Located in Pekutatan, Jembrana Regency, beside the main street from Denpasar to Gilimanuk Harbour, it’s about 2 to 3 hours from Denpasar City and Denpasar Airport.
The beach is not just popular during daytime, it’s also famous for it’s spectacular sunset views. The sunset creates a romantic atmosphere and makes it a crowded place at night. Enjoy the panoramic view with your loved ones and a peaceful sea breeze while you see the sun go down!

Places to visit in Bali and best time to visit Bali to enjoy Bali tours
Bali, the famed Island of the Gods, with its varied landscape of hills and mountains, rugged coastlines and sandy beaches, lush rice terraces and barren volcanic hillsides all providing a picturesque backdrop to its colourful, deeply spiritual and unique culture, stakes a serious claim to be paradise on earth. With world-class surfing and diving, a large number of cultural, historical and archaeological attractions, and an enormous range of accommodations, this is one of the world's most popular island destinations and one which consistently wins travel awards. Bali has something to offer a very broad market of visitors from young back-packers right through to the super-rich.
Bali is one of more than 17,000 islands in the Indonesian archipelago and is located just over 2 kilometres (almost 1.5 miles) from the eastern tip of the island of Java and west of the island of Lombok. The island, home to about 4 million people, is approximately 144 kilometres (90 mi.) from east to west and 80 kilometres (50 mi.) north to south.
The word paradise is used a lot in Bali and not without reason. The combination of friendly, hospitable people, a magnificently visual culture infused with spirituality and (not least) spectacular beaches with great surfing and diving have made Bali Indonesia's unrivaled number one tourist attraction. Eighty percent of international visitors to Indonesia visit Bali and Bali alone.
Regions of Bali :
South Bali (Kuta, Bukit Peninsula, Canggu, Denpasar, Jimbaran, Legian, Nusa Dua, Sanur, Seminyak, Tanah Lot) The most visited part of the island by far, with Kuta Beach and chic Seminyak.
Central Bali (Ubud, Bedugul, Tabanan) The cultural heart of Bali and the central mountain range.
West Bali (Negara, Gilimanuk, Medewi Beach, Pemuteran, West Bali National Park) Ferries to Java and the West Bali National Park.
North Bali (Lovina, Singaraja)Quiet black sand beaches and the old capital city.
East Bali (Amed, Besakih, Candidasa, Kintamani, Klungkung, Mount Agung, Padang Bai, Tirta Gangga) Laid back coastal villages, an active volcano and the mighty Mount Agung.
Southeastern Islands (Nusa Lembongan, Nusa Penida, Nusa Ceningan) Quiet offshore islands in the southeast, popular for diving activities.
Daytime temperatures are pleasant, varying between 20-33⁰ C (68-93⁰ F) year-round. From December to March, the west monsoon can bring heavy showers and high humidity, but days are still often sunny with the rains starting in the late afternoon or evening and passing quickly. From June to September, the humidity is low and it can be quite cool in the evenings. At this time of the year there is hardly any rain in the lowland coastal areas.

Medewi Manor Accommodation Sumbul Beach Bali.
Medewi Manor is a three apartment two building villa in the rural | surf surrounds of Medewi well away from the hustle and bustle of Kuta, Seminyak, and Legian. Situated on Sumbul beach within view of the Medewi Point break (800m). You can enjoy the old style Bali lifestyle. Here we are at the Medewi Board Riders Challenge 2018.
The waves at both Medewi Point and Sumbul beach are not dangerous or tubing rides. There are practically no barrels and definitely no coral reefs here. The wave forms surprisingly slowly and then crumbles from the top picking up into a faster section from midway on. Basically it is cutback, cutback then go for it. This wave is perfect for the older guys. If you are a goofy footer Medewi is heaven on Earth.
If you are not a super fit surfer the best board to have is one that is not too short. A board between 7 to 8 foot with a bit of foam works best due to the waves being fat and not breaking as quickly as you expect. You need a bit of paddling speed to get on them early. Remember to paddle down to the fishing village or the old Bamboo restaurant before attempting to get out of the surf or you are in for the barnacle rock hop. The best place to paddle out is between 2 rocks at the far corner boundary of Medewi Beach Cottages, just watch and copy the locals.

It is when you think you saw it all, that you discover new places. It is time for you to step out the beaten tracks and take your head out of your travel guide. It is time for you to discover Jembrana in West Bali.
The word Jembrana came from two words: Jimbar and Wana which literally means lush jungle. West Bali has a total area of 840.000 square meters which hides countless beautiful hidden spots waiting to be explored.
