MERRY CHRISTMAS/FELIZ NAVIDAD!

A Chilean took my motorcycle! Jorge flew over from New Zealand to Chile for a family affair and needed a motorcycle for the week. Alp volunteered for the ride down south and is actually going to see that part of Chile before me. That leaves me without a ride but we are going down south also to Concepcion Chile in the Bio Bio region for a few days. There the family shows me around the region of Conception like Las Tetas del Bio Bio, which literally means the tits of Bio Bio. And the little fishermans town Caleta Tumbes. Beautiful little bay with many colorful fishing boats floating around. So many stands with delicious seafood like crabs and mussels on the side of the road. We take the last boat tour of the day and follow the Tumbes coastal line for a bit and learn about the 2010 Tsunami that followed the earthquake back then. Caleta Tumbes is well worth a visit when in Conception. Check it out! A week later Jorge comes back with my motorcycle and he went back to New Zealand. It was great to see him again, especially in his native country Chile.

As a commune, Antofagasta is a third-level administrative division of Chile administered by a municipal council, headed by an alcalde who is directly elected every four years. The current mayor is Mrs. Karen Rojo.

The commune is represented in the Senate by Mr. Alejandro Guillier (Ind.) and Mr. Pedro Araya (Ind.) as part of the 2nd senatorial constituency (Antofagasta Region).

The township has three local police courts. In addition, the Municipality of Antofagasta has a number of municipal headquarters, which are entities created to meet and control certain community needs a more specific way.

Antofagasta's economic development is mainly based on copper mining and nonmetallic minerals such as nitrate and iodine. It is also important port activity, although in recent years has lost the lead port in the region, due to the installation of the megaport of Mejillones.[citation needed]

The second industrial area is located in the north of the city, where they have installed multiple operating centers of different companies, mainly along the Pedro Aguirre Cerda Avenue.

Trade is concentrated mainly in the center of Antofagasta, around the Plaza Colón, where there are installed within the last 2 decades several national retail chains. Moreover, in different parts of the city have set up large supermarket chains like Líder, Tottus, Unimarc, Santa Isabel and Jumbo.

Recently in 2006, were also installed, the national chain Mall Plaza in the coastal area and the Casino Enjoy Antofagasta in the south of the city.

Des Pas est une série documentaire dans laquelle on suit Klara et Nils, une danseuse et un réalisateur, dans leur quête de danse autour du monde. En couple, ils sillonnent le globe avec leurs sacs à dos et une caméra, un peu à la manière de J'irai dormir chez vous et Nus et culottés. Leur but ? Montrer, par l'angle de la danse, la beauté, la richesse et la diversité des cultures à travers le monde.

Grâce à plusieurs portraits, nous découvrons comment la danse, sous de nombreuses formes, peut-être à la fois un moyen d'expression, d’affirmation culturelle ou encore une manière de faire perdurer les traditions.

Talad Rot Fai Ratchada (ตลาดรถไฟรัชดา) - Also known as the train market, is one of the most popular night markets in Bangkok. It’s especially popular on the weekend when a younger crowd flocks to the market to eat the latest Thai street food trends, and hang out with friends.

The train market has in recent months become famous for its giant food - you’ll find a number of giant Thai dishes to try like egg noodles, pork bone soup, and now the massive lobster tom yum - possibly the world’s biggest bowl of tom yum?

Diaw Goong Rot Fai Restaurant (เตี๋ยวกุ้งรถไฟ) - This is the name of the restaurant, and when we ordered they started preparing the lobster.

Giant Lobster Tom Yum (ก๋วยเตี๋ยวต้มยำโครตกุ้งมังกรยักษ์) - They serve it in a basin, like a mini bathtub, not even a bowl. And it’s HUGE.
