Planning a trip to Veliko Tarnovo? David’s Been Here walks you through all the top things to see and do in this historic Bulgarian city. First-time visitors will be swept off their feet by the medieval beauty of this former Bulgarian capital, with the tourist-friendly Rakovski Street, Holy 40 Martyrs Church, Assen Monument and sprawling 12th century Tsaravets Fortress built into the colorful Veliko Tarnovo hillside. Catch some amazing views over the city from Tsaravets’ Cathedral or walk along the picturesque walls of this amazing medieval stronghold.
