Muir Woods National Monument - Park Travel Review
Muir Woods National Monument is about an hour from San Francisco, CA. It is an oasis of old-growth Redwood Forest that is a must see if you are in the area. On our visit, we got to hear a Ranger Talk about the history and ecology of this forest. It was really interesting and we appreciate the ranger giving us permission to use her word in our video. We also explored the paved paths in the park including Cathedral Grove. Lori and I got off the paved trails too. We hiked the Hilltop Trail. We were happy to get a couple of miles in for the #Hike365Challenge in this beautiful location.

Arriving in San Jose at the start of my week in California. You can catch the ferry to Sausalito at Pier 41 at the Fisherman's Wharf. Round trip was $25 and runs about every twenty minutes.
There is then a bus you can take from Sausalito to Muir Woods. The service is frequent. It is only about three dollars, but the ticket must be reserved on the national park website. The reservation up includes a ride down at any time that works for you.
The redwoods there were beautiful and it was a nice place to hike. Lots of people, though. Definitely do one or more of the side hikes to enjoy the area more.
